Garage door won't open

Long story short everything works. Forgot to close it last night and my son sleeps right above it. He's 1 and I didn't want to wake him up. So I pulled the red string to close it.

Now it won't open or close. What do I do to get it back on track (pun intended).

Manually open it all the way until the release mechanism you disengaged clicks back into the chain runner. You need to really open it as far as you can for it to reengage

Got home, ate a big dinner, and was more calm as opposed to panicing knowing I'll be late for work. I had to fully close the garage door and push on the lever that the emergency release is hooked too. This re-engaged the track.
