No complaints here really. You can still use phone apps like pandora, voice guided GPS, Waze etc. while your phone is connected via bluetooth. It just doesn't show up on the screen. The ONLY complaint I have is when it's on bluetooth from my playlist on my iphone it just shows up as a bluetooth device without giving any album pictures or anything... which isn't that big of a deal since I normally keep the screen on nav or something else.

Thats the part I don't like! I like smooth touch systems like cell phone! Resistive feels awkward, i feel like if I can't control my pressure on the screen i might end up breaking stuff!
I hear you! ;)

Automakers, especially domestic ones, still don't quite grasp the public's expectation about technology. They are better than they were, but still riding behind the curve. I guess the problem is that it takes so long to develop a vehicle, that by they time they make a decision and implement it, the technology, and it's associated expectations, has moved on yet again. They need to adopt a module approach so that key components can be swapped out at a moment's notice. As many cell phones that now use capacity screens, they should be able to secure screens at a reasonable cost.

I have MFT in my '14 Mustang GT and my wife's '14 Fusion Energi. No problems with either. Works great. Voice commands are easy to use, and preferred to actually touching the screen.

sounds like an extreme case of old guy.

Perhaps you are correct BUT, If they broke down Mustang buyers by gender and age- you "young-uns" would be VERY sad indeed. Two kinds of folks make up the VAST majority of 'tang buyers- old guys that don't want a leather coat with a corvette emblem on the back(v8-GTs) and young secretaries(v6-strippers). There will always be those that don't fall into either category, but they are not the primary target audience.

Mine is a bit slower than the Nav system I had in my Sonata but overall I'm pretty happy with its performance.

I'm the "It sucks" category. It is really slow. Slow as molasses in February. It takes at least 45 seconds for it to switch from Browse to my playlists. The voice control of music is inaccurate. It is so inconvenient, it is easier to pick up my phone and change music there. That's freaking dangerous. So yeah, it sucks.

Works fine for me and in the wife's 14 Edge. Better than what we had in the previous cars.

The only thing that pisses me off is I can get Pandora to work perfectly with my 2012 F-150's sync but on my 2015 GT w/ the 'uber' mytouch not a single app works! WTF? That is a hard fail of Ford's part.
I listen to Pandora almost exclusively, and I never have any trouble. I hop in, Bluetooth picks it up, and plays from where the song left off. Better app integration like being able to thumbs up or thumbs down songs would be nice, but the basic functionality works fine.

Some people on these forums seem to bash MFT pretty heavily, and maybe it's just a select few who happen to be very vocal. I considered waiting until 2016 because of these concerns. Now that I have it, I can say that I think it works great. People complained about "it's so slow", but I have to say it's not something I've ever noticed.

You can't expect voice recognition to be perfect, but lets be honest, most people can't speak clear English in the first place. The only thing I really use voice recognition for is making phone calls. It's probably the only thing that I find more efficient done that way.

I read Ford was even sued for the flawed system. Does it suck for you? Also I read they promised apps like Pandora, etc. but now that Sync 3 is here they said support for Applink 2.0 will be discontinued.

What are your experiences with the system?
Works great for me. This is the 3rd ford i have had with Sync and My ford touch 2nd gen.

The app link stuff is more for the sync cars that don't have the touch screen. Just put your phone in blue tooth mode and start what ever app you want. same thing really.

All the negative reviews are stupid. i found there was a 2-3 week learning cure with sync and MFT. When you learned how it all works, it became natural.

I couldn't imagine not buying a ford with it. And it works so well, I will tend to stay with ford.

In the car I prefer resistive screens since they work with gloves. To each their own, I suppose.

45 seconds? What are you talking about? I've never had it take more than two or three seconds to update to any new screen.

Admittedly, I don't bother using the screen to browse music, since I have about 15,000 songs on my iPod Classic in the center console, and it would be pointless to see the songs listed onscreen and go through them that way.

Mine works just fine. That being said, I don't have a phone synced, I don't pay for Satellite radio, I don't hook up any ipods, and I never use the navigation. As far as the touch screen sensitivity, if your fingers are cold and dry- it doesn't work worth a d_mn, if you warm your fingers and keep lotion on them- the touch screen works perfectly. I only bought the big screen because that's the way they bundle the options these days. I had to have the high-end stereo and heated and cooled leather- so I had no choice but to get the fancy 8-inch screen filled with crap I'll NEVER USE.
You don't have a phone synced? EVERYBODY I know that has a car with bluetooth has their phone synced to it -- it's not an age thing, I'm talking from people in their 20's up through people in their '90's. How in the world do you make / take a call while you're driving if you don't have your phone synced? And if the answer is "I don't," well, presumably you're retired and don't have to worry about work calls, but how on Earth do you not have family / friends calling you while you're driving?

It's acceptable, however really disappointing and such a letdown to me. As a tech forward computer science grad 24 year old:

1) The entire system feels sluggish, transitioning from one menu to another has this unbearable 1-2 second delay that makes for a poor user experience.

2) Navigation is a joke. It takes 20-something seconds to establish a route, compared to 1-3 seconds via Google Maps on a smartphone. The system also notifies your exits/on-ramps really late, I've missed many cues and have to find alternative routes (when driving to an unknown area) because of this - mildly frustrating.

3) The automatic algorithm that "smartly" predicts the letter you're going to type out next (eg. street address) is so poorly implemented, adding unnecessary lag and delay to the text input process. An example is - say I want to type in "Hillcrest Drive", I would tap "H" and the system would take 2 seconds to calculate possible/available subsequent letter, then I click "I" and it would repeat. :frusty:

4) User-interface feels & looks like something from 2006.

5) Low resolution TFT display.

6) Music, via USB to an iPhone/Android, would sometimes intermittently cut out - similar to when your CD skips and there's a .5 second stutter.

7) MFT likes to re-index my music every time I start the car, this takes about 20 minutes; why is this even necessary? This eliminates the ability to tell the system tell what songs you have on your device, so you can't just call out "play Whole Lotta Love" until the system finishes re-indexing.

Older crowds seem okay with the system. But I feel for younger people, we're spoiled by much better user interfaces & experience available as of 2015 and expected the same "snappy-ness" from MFT. Sync 2 doesn't feel like a modern product, but something Ford implemented from 10 years ago. I realize nobody buys a Mustang for tech forward features, and I absolutely love my car otherwise - I'm just disappointing at this lackluster effort by Ford.

There's plenty of people that don't - I see somebody driving vehicle that I am 100% sure has a bluetooth holding the phone by their ear or worse in front of the on speakerphone. So not sure if you're serious , but there's hundreds of people that don't for whatever reason...

If you've broken your life down into describing things a unbearable because something takes 1-2 seconds to occur you should probably unplug for a bit...
