I installed my Sync 3 upgrade in my '15 Mustang last night and just in the short time I like the changes. It took a little longer to install than the 4DTECH web page says but it was not hard. I took their install video and paused after viewing each step in the process. Also installing the GPS antenna was a different than what the video showed. There is already a device at the location they show to install the GPS antenna. The opening they use in the video is how the cable from the device that is already there is fed down so I had to loosen the speaker to get enough room to feed the GPS cable.
The home layout is a significant improvement with the nav map on half the screen and the audio, phone, and cooled/heated seat controls on the other half. I looked at Apple Carplay but I think I will stay with Sync 3 as my main screen. I will have to get a better understanding of Carplay but unless there is a way to have multiple Carplay app screens displayed, I will stay with Sync 3 as my main screen. Also I only have 2Gig of data each month, so if I was on a long trip, I could see the maps app using up much if not all of my data.
