I'm interested in keeping my car in warranty... I know this is a mild performance for the dollar, but I'm curious as to whether we think this kit will be available for the 2022 given the evident changes in emissions requirements?

My guess is it works but won't until Ford sets it up for the newer years. When you install this kit it downloads data from their servers for your engine configuration specifically, I would bet they don't have that set up for models not yet certified.

Hope they set it up for the newer years, I have it on my '20 and I love it.

Yeah I mean the equipment will obviously physically fit onto the car. The question is the computer aspect of it and that is not something you can fudge. It's VIN locked and year model specific.

Another question would be, if they DO make it available for a '22, will it add just 19hp (as it does on 18-21) or will it add 29hp, by getting rid of whatever caused the 10hp drop this year............... Either way there's a lot more torque added and it doesn't affect warranty and is built of high quality materials, so I'm interested.

Well then the kit has to produce 29hp what I highly doubt.

Depends on where those 10hp went.... if they are a result of tune/programming changes, then in theory that 460 baseline is still there, just choked down to 450 by a more emissions-friendly program. If in theory a 2021 ECU on a 2022 engine makes 460 hp just as it does on a 2021, then putting the Ford Performance tune should net 29, not 19. I doubt they'll advertise that, but who knows. Maybe the 2022 version of the FP tune has to be less powerful due to whatever emissions limitations they're facing.

Jeremy: Hello Ira, how can I help you today?
12:45, Feb 1
Ira: Hi Jeremy. Will the 18-21 GT calibration kit work with the 2022 models. If yes is the HP gain still 19 or has the kit made up for the 10HP lost in 2022 due to emissions? Thank you.
12:46, Feb 1
Jeremy: We cannot confirm fitmaent as of yet, we have not had time to test on the new model year. I am hoping for more information on this subject by the end of Q1. But there has been no ETA given as of yet.

Ira: That's what I thought. Thank you.

I asked FP about this, here's the response:

"Right now it does not. We do not have EPA certification for it, so we legally can not sell it or provide a calibration for a 2022 Mustang. We are working on making that kit available for a 2022, we just don’t have a good timeframe yet."

Would guess its the calibration only, not the HW that is the issue. Took a couple years for 2018 kit!

My two cents and I know you want your warranty but....

Drive your car for a few thousand miles. Usually you're going to see any major issue in those first 5,000 or so.

Get an aftermarket tune from one of the big names and don't look back. You can even get E85 which we have plenty of in Texas. If anything, the tunes make your factory car run even better.

Remember, they have to prove that the tune is the cause of any issue and typically you can find some mod friendly dealerships regardless. Don't let that scare you from an aftermarket tune and voiding your warranty. You'll save more money and get more for your money than the Ford Performance one. Also, you can keep your closed box intake which is really really good.

Well, it may be two years before I hit 5k miles on it. Not a daily driver. And I have Ford ESP through 8yrs/100k miles, so I don't want to destroy that. With the various oil consumption issues that have occurred on Gen3s, I'm hesitant to do anything to put engine warranty into question.

How much HP/torque increase could one expect from a non-factory custom tune?
