All I can say is good luck. It's a lot harder than it looks.
Agree....after watching some in depth videos, out of my league,
also too impatient ! Got to hand it to the OP, gutsy to try to do yourself
and like most projects when they come out good, nothing beats
that personal pride.

Hi everyone!

Picking my car up tomorrow. I have a fair drive (couple hundred miles) back from the dealer. I bought some temporary track wrap/paint protection type stuff to put on for the drive home. Besides the front bumper/hood, any recommendations on other places? I see a lot of people mention that the wheel kick up a lot of rocks. Is this in front of the rear wheels or behind it?

My ride is in the shop for PPF right now. Here's what I had installed using Xpel patterns and Suntek film:

bumper
headlights
mirrors
full hood
full front fenders
high impact areas (front of rear wheel)
partial rocker panel pattern (only the pattern behind the rear wheel)
handle cups

My Suntek quote is $1600, full hood, fenders, mirrors, and complete bumper.
Seeing how you do.....maybe I will try the hood myself....

Good luck in the project !

Dude... I don't doubt your skills, but I know the guys that did mine have won awards and they still had a hard time. I would say the determination is more than admirable, but just pay to have someone do it that can precut the panels. Or at least order them that way.

Either way good luck, and may the force be with you.

the front bumper/fenders are insanely difficult and a complete paint in the ass.

The most experienced installers are going to hate doing it.

Well the car is home and ready to get started. Plan to get it washed and start the polishing tomorrow.

I was checking out the plastics (vent in the hood and front wheel exhaust vents) + the GT350 badging. The vents look like they pop right out, but I saw the badges used holes in the fender to be secured.

Anyone remove their badges? Those of you who have had their cars clear bra'd, do you know how your installers handled the badges?

Sheeeesh. No faith!

Hehe. I do have the front bumper pre cut. The rest will be single piece custom installs. Should be an interesting adventure. Curious to see how it turns. Worst case scenario i pull it off and take it to someone.

Recommend not removing badges. Not worth potential damage. If film is properly cut, you won't be able to tell unless you get really close and stare.

My entire car is covered with SunTek (100%) and no one has been able to tell until told.

Yes. I had the badges and mirrors removed, mostly as I have a light colored car and edges are dirt magnets.

You will not be able to remove the "GT350" badges without damaging them. The mirror removal requires removing the door cards (easy), door speakers (easy), and accessing the mirror harness plug (not easy as it's a one-hand job with your arm in the speaker home up to your elbow while trying to get a plug apart in the blind). Still worth it IMHO.

As I play around with the badges, it sure seems like that you're right. I can see the rivets in the fender with the hood up, but cant see how to push them out. Would you mind snapping a photo of how your installer handled the badges?

I bought new badges for the fenders already...in preparation for wrap or clear bra.
