Disabling or reducing the cold start sequence?

Just wondering why no one thought of the motor heater device.
If the parking spot allows you to get a 220V (for the folks here in Germany) wire near the car, the heating device combined with a timer might be the most simple solution.

Good for your car (no more cold starts) good for some noise reduction, good for awful neighbours.

A block heater is an option for the US variants. Tuning can control the timing of the combustion event, quieting the car down during startup.

What program is that to edit the maps like that?

I'm using HP Tuners software, but I think any of them will be able to access those tables.

Do you offer a tune for the X4? Lund said this is impossible. When I emailed this thread and your response they never emailed back. So Lund can go F themselves as far as I'm concerned. They have never addressed any of my drivability concerns and now this. Need an X4 tune from yall I guess.

That is absolutely something that we can help you with! The reason that you have this "noise" issue is actually caused because the timing goes -22° timing. This happens because the combustion inside of the cylinder actually occurs while the exhaust valve is completely open. This is in an attempt to heat up the cats during startup. Our custom tuning can correct this fairly easily. If you have anymore questions or would like to order up some tuning let me know!

Hey Josh, sorry to hear that you feel so strongly.

Unfortunately, due to the extra parameters that we have access to make the size of our tuning files so large that they do not fit onto an SCT device. We have actually gone as far as to engineer our own tuning software and hardware so that we can alter or control things like this for example that other tuners cannot. We can help you make a few more ponies while we are at it! With the mods that you have you should be up in the 440whp range.
