Hello guys,

I have a 2015 V6 and I want to upgrade my differential.

Im looking online for a GT performance pack diff (torsen and 3.55 gears) and just want to confirm with you if it will fit as long if its from an auto to an auto transmission.

There were differences in flanges, and the length of drive shafts between a6 and a10?

Just rebuild what you have. Or if you buy a pumpkin, be warned it's not going to be as cheap as you thought.

Im looking for some used ones for about 600-800 bucks. I prefer to buy the whole pumpkin than rebuild mine.

Not sure about the V6, but I put a gen 3 auto pumpkin in my gen 2 auto GT. It fit without any changes.

But then you'll need to change the flange, probably replace the crush tube and so forth, and now you're way over a grand. Do you have someone who has built a bunch of these before and is intimately knowledgeable about all aspects of this?
Nope. Im not at the states so in my country not everybody knows how to work with diffs, thats why I want the most “plug and play” option.

Isn't the auto flange the same on a V6? Does it have it's own?
I meant to write that with a question mark. Point is there may well be non-obvious gotchas that will detail the "simple" task.

And anyway, where you gonna go. You're on a tiny island.

Buy a GT?

A couple guys race the v6 and maybe they've done this and can chime in

Buy a GT.
Haha, not an option. The whole pumpkin sold by ford performance says it Fits All 2015-2024 Ford Mustang GT, V6 Models. Wouldn’t it be the same for a 2020 performance pck GT?

It's worth a shot I guess. I was not aware of that publication. I would call FP to make damn sure.

I think it's there is just the auto and manual versions. The rear end that I swapped in was an auto flange that I traded for a manual. In my digging around, I never came across any other combo. The bloody flange nut is $25, even on Rock Auto!

Driveshafts are the same regardless of engine, but there are pinion flange and transmission connection differences, dictated by year and transmission type. And there may be a length difference for the different autos.

18+ diffs all have the same pinion flange (110mm).

The 15-17 cars had the same pinion flange as 18+ if it's an auto (all 110mm).
Manual cars for 15-17 had a different(larger) size flange (113mm).

So unless I'm mistaken, your stock driveshaft should just connect up to the torsen 3.55 diff since they have the same size pinion flange. If @K4fxd says he's done a gen3 auto diff swap with his gt, it should be the same on a V6. Fairly certain the V6 axles have same spline count as all other models, so those should also fit without issue.

I've done the 3.55 torsen upgrade on my 15 GT if you'd like a read (I have a manual but used a diff from a 2021 auto and a 2021 manual driveshaft): https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/th...ack-2015-mustang-gt-build.188720/post-3907171
