My deep hatred for the starship engine cover had me brainstorming. I went from the beautiful look of the engine bay in my 2014 GT to this rats nest in my 2019 GT. Ford tried to cover it up, but its just too obvious. I picked up an all black cover from ebay and went to work with the cutoff wheel and some JB. Tell me what you think. Don't worry, I have thick skin. I don't think I succeeded in what I was looking for, but I had to try something.

Isn't it amazing? All those tubes and hoses and what not? Long and thin and clamps and etc.. 😅

Credit given for the attempt. But it still looks to be a rat's nest. Just more of it exposed now. My preference would be the factory cover. It is your car, do with it what YOU like.

Stay in the batter's box, keep swinging, and eventually you will connect with the ball.

Removing the pizza box was the first thing. I did the first night I brought the car home, did not last 6hrs.

A thinking person can clean, and dress up the wiring to look better, takes some effort & an educated eye.

I tried cutting up the cover as the OP has done, 2 problems for me with it.

1 the 5.0 duck bill covered the throttle body
2 I wanted to see the top of intake, it takes away from the size of the tubes.

Using tie wraps, wire loom, black paint & a hunk of radiator hose, enhanced things and hide some warts.

... these threads make me miss my 98 even more. Nowadays I refuse to open the hood unless something breaks or needs maintenance. Good try though; its an interesting approach.

FWIW, I like it! Never been a fan of the huge engine covers on modern vehicles. I'd rather see all the hoses, tubes, brackets, etc. That's the heart of the vehicle. To me the only real benefit of those huge engine covers is sound dampening. Yours is clean and ties in nicely with the GT strut tower brace.
