Different oil filter.

So, just got the first oil change completed, and my car did not have the FL 2069ST filter installed from the factory. It has a "canister" style filter. Pic below.
They replaced it with a FL 2062. Anyone else seen this?

New filter is on cars built after the winter break. Your car was built in 2017, correct?

They went to a canister filter? Wonder which is better and more economical. I would think just having to replace the filter element instead of the whole thing costs would be lower. Is this a swapable thing to the previous models.

Yeah, built in 2017. Delivered mid April.

Which one is better is debatable. The 2069 was developed as a HP filter for the 5.2. The cannister is shared across other non-hipo vehicles...

Not a fan of the canister style one bit. Glad I have the traditional oil filter set up.
