I have been considering getting yet another mustang to add to my fleet but have been coming across a few interesting Canadian cars that were imported to the United States, so what’s the difference on the 6th gen 2015-2022 models?

Anything we should look out for when considering an imported car from our siblings from the north (other than the more obvious rust concerns and kilometer vs miles)? The ones I have found are used models that were brought to the US via auction. If any of us decided to buy any of these cars I would assume we would have to pay import taxes and such, but I want to know your experiences and if it is a good idea.

Thanks in advance, giddy up! ✌

Most of us up here enter our Mustangs in smash up derby’s and then export them to the US. :) One thing of note is my tach only goes to 6500 even though the car goes to 7400. I like to brag I can rev my car 900 over the redline with no problem……

I bought my Mustang used and it came from Canada. I even have a copy of the original Canadian window sticker. No issues, no problems.
Did the car come with any documents to show it is able to be titled/registered in the US now and any certification that it passes emissions?

The reason I ask is, I too have seen quite a few used Canadian vehicles for sale and the original Window Stickers do state in bold type "This Veh. Not Intended Foe Sale Or Registration in US. Retail Prices Exclude GST/HST".

I believe there is a Canadian law about a car needing to be a certain age before it can be exported to the US, like 1 year after initial registration or something. Mine is Canadian, its a 2019. It shows on the carfax that it went through an import process and certified to meet US specs.

Sync is different on Canadian vehicles, it says "aye" after each voice prompt.
All good there! Grew up in Wisconsin where aye was the norm. Too bad sync doesn’t tell passengers “hold this guy’s brewski and watch this, aye!” 🤣

Seriously though in the 80's the Canadian version of the Fox body Mustang had all metric bolts.

Eh?

—- (great movie BTW) 😁

Back on the S550 subject matter…. @Mike Pfeifer the reference to your CarFax, did you get any type of documentation about that certification to meet US criteria when you bought your S550?
