Track pack (engine oil cooler, trans cooler, diff cooler, rear spoiler) come standard on the 17'. In 16', you couldn't get that option WITH the Tech Package. The lawsuit against Ford concerned cars that did not have the Track Package, and sometime overheat and go into limp mode, particularly if you try and run it hard on a track.
There is an error in the statement above. All 2016's HAVE the engine oil cooler.
They don't have tranny or differential cooler.

Hey burnin4, don't forget that lightning blue you wanted is only available on the 17.
I know, I'd love to have a lightening blue, but there are none located around me. I'm going to keep looking though, thanks for your help!

If you don't plan on tracking the car, save some money and get a 2016 GT350 with the tech package. I was in the same position as you earlier this year, and despite reading hours and hours worth of threads about the lawsuit and complaints about the '16 base and tech versions, I went with a new '16 wth the tech package and saved about $6K over a '17 I could have bought. Couldn't be happier with my decision.

The limp mode issue is almost exclusively experienced by drivers who try to track a GT350 without the track pack. Sure, a couple of guys posted that they're gone into limp mode in bad traffic or hard driving in extreme heat off the track. But the vast majority of drivers have not had that issue, based on what I could find online, on this forum and elsewhere, any way.

I appreciate that feedback, because I keep finding really good deals on 16's, very tempting. I have no plans to track the car but I will be installing a ProCharger, and enjoy occasional trips to the drag strip and 1/2 mile events. I just wish they made lightening blue in 2016.

Are there differences in the suspension between 16 & 17, magnaride? Thanks!

Having had a 16 and now a 17 I disagree. They aren't much if any better at least for me. Still bad QC.

The only other difference I haven't seen mentioned is the soft touch door trim for the 17s.
You mean touching the door handle unlocks the car ? My 16 TP has it...

I think he means the inside door panel up by the window is not hard plastic on the '17, at least with the elec. or conv. package. I believe the base '17 still has the hard plastic door trim.

No.

^This. The top of the door card by the window is soft touch plastic compared to the hard plastic all of the 16s have.

Not a deal breaker by anymeans, but it is a nice touch and more comfortable when I'm cruising down the highway resting my elbow there.

I noticed that 2 2016's I looked at today had horrible lines/fitment of the rear bumper cover, couldn't believe it.
Mine was near perfect from the factory, but has slid down and back over time. Some have speculated that the common mustang problem is made worse with the heavy rear diffuser setup on the GT350.

Its my thought that Ford screwed up the bend in the rear 1/4 panels and bumper so they are not the same angle and thus the bumper is stressed when mounted "correctly" and will always slide back and down with the factory hardware.

correct:
Top is 2016
Bottom is 2017
Another cosmetic difference is the Strut Tower Brace Plate:
- 2016 Top "Developed & Engineered by Ford Performance Dearborn MI USA"
- 2017 Bottom "Ford Performance"

For some reason, I like the 16 versions better. Honestly, not because I own one.

Except it should have stated "ENGINEERED AND DEVELOPED..." not the opposite. Engineering comes before development...now I'm really picking nits!
