Well, hood alignment has been a sore point on both the GT350 press cars as well as the regular Mustangs. Wouldn't surprise me if Ford is trying to dial in the hood rests and latch to get a good fit. Some are certainly better than others, so a good alignment is possible.I had an interesting conversation this afternoon with a person who has been with Ford for 42 years and he was told that the issue on the 2015 GT350 cars has been a hood alignment issue therefore the cars are not being released until this issue has been addressed and corrected.
As we all know these Shelby hoods are unique to these GT350 cars but I am not sure if I believe this information but that is the best that I have been able to come up with so far.
Hopefully someone can either confirm this information or has better information than I have come up with?
You would more likely crack the block before the bellhousing due to crank vibration. :gossip: <---- This is the problem here, Not crank vibrationI have been hearing through the racing grape vine that the 180 crank is causing a lot of vibration issues, cracked bellhousings, starters falling off, etc.
I seriously doubt dealers know anything for sure. They are speculating based on what they hope will happen. There is certainly some reason for the delay over than "we have other cars to build"...otherwise, why sit on the 2015s?Was told my order will be pulled and possibly a late oct , nov Delivery. Good news. Looks like they are getting ready to ramp up 2016 production. A Few other dealers told me the same thing about nov. delivery dates. In Atlanta we can drive all year long unless it's an R model.
I thought of that too... I'm at Sebring for the last stop of their North American Tour. Maybe they can just bring mine there and hand it over to me as soon as the sessions finish (but not in my car!).I don't think there is any defect or other issue holding the cars up from transport. Ford wants to control the media for these cars, and wants to keep attention on all of the track days they have booked on the calendar. As soon as customers take delivery, YouTube and the like will be full of real world video reviews and track numbers, and nobody will care about the activities happening on the remainder of the track tour.
October 12-13: Sebring International Raceway, Sebring, Florida
I expect the first customer deliveries will occur on 10/14 or after.
Just curious why you couldn't drive an R model all year around in Atlanta?[ In Atlanta we can drive all year long unless it's an R model.
