OH they will still be in business because there are thousands of people that are not on auto forums and have no idea how to do anything to their car. I didn't make a first mistake, since I chose to take it there :) Oil changes are not rocket science and in the end it worked out ok. I have the credit, so why not use it. The important thing is I know to check and verify.

Expecting underpaid high school dropouts to care about your car more than you was your first mistake. I've never had anyone change my oil except in a beater so I have no experience with these people. YMMV Let us know how the next one goes if they are still in business this fall.

How many Ford Reward Points does it take to get the right oil put in your Mustang?

Yeah I don't blame you one bit. I have some I need to use up too and it will likely be for an oil change as well.

That is a story in itself. Let's just say Ford awarded me the points for allowing a dealer to fix a mistake that they made. Dealer billed me, Ford paid over the phone and then I got double the points for my having my car "serviced" doing the Corona hard times. Since I drove over two hours to a Roush certified dealer to fix that mistake, I think I earned those points fair and square. Nothing like buying a new car and having the check engine light on for the first 1k miles. A knock sensor was not connected.....so no damage done.

Lol how did you get so many ford reward points?

Sorry to hear about your troubles at the dealership, it sucks to get such poor service but it happens all too often.
I have Ford points and the dealer finance manager messed up my paperwork so I had to go back to sign papers again. They offered a free oil change but I asked for them to just give me the oil and filter. They said they couldn't do that so I left. As long as I am physically able I will change my own oil, it is worth it!

Went in for a warranty claim and Had a shop manager tell me my 5.0 badge came loose cause I was probably drag racing. I shit you not. I said thanks for your time and went to another dealership because they use to be a SVT dealer and now they're cert roush dealer. Told him about the other guy, he laughed and installed 2 brand new badges cause 'they now match' and let me keep the old one. Then they washed and detailed my car for free. When they do the rare oil change for me (cause I might be to lazy or whatev that day), they itemize everything & use the oil I give them, and let me watch & shoot the shit. Now that's customer service!

LMAO, he was giving you a complement. Was saying you broke the sound barrier and sucked 5.0 badges off the fenders.....

Sadly no, he was looking to decline the claim.

Pretty normal. I take mine to a Roush ford dealer and only deal with a dedicated Roush tech. Cost me $160 for a oil change but worth it

That would be my preference....nearest one is over 2 hours away. I do plan to drive those 2 hours to a Roush tech, I trust when I decide to upgrade the oil pump gears and half shafts.

Yeah mine is not quite that far at 40 mins. Fortunately I only need service 2 times a year.

Mistakes do happen, BUT if it's marked on the paperwork to use the 5W-50 full synthetic and obviously it's on the oil cap, that's just a dumb dumb move.
Oh you're absolutely right, you have to be willfully ignorant at that point, lol. I totally understand OP's frustration but I just hate when techs mess with my car, and they absolutely will if they think you're belittling them or otherwise being an ass.

I’m always going to change my oil so I know I’m actually putting the right oil. If you trust them then that’s your call of course. I just don’t trust anyone changing my vehicles engine oils.
