If Tremic were to make the DCT available in the aftermarket and it was possible to retro fit one to your GT350 would you? Say the cost is $8,000 installed and tuned.
I would take a three on the tree over a friggin DCT!

I like to disassemble things.
I would. Made the jump to a GT500 a little easier because of it.

Hell yes, sign me up. Been watching the TR-9007 to see if that every becomes available, would love to have that in both my cars.

With the current gear ratios available that would be TERRIBLE for the GT350 unless you swapped to a 4.56 booty. With zero driveline changes to a GT350 except for the trans, 3rd gear is good for 125 MPH. I'm guessing that's far from nominal. :surprised:

The other thing about DCT's is the crappy sound they make with the exhaust during shifts. Sounds like a fart, no way for a performance car to sound.

I grew up on a 3onatree
I also had nothing but trees in my youth (though we had 3 on a tree in domestics and 4 on most of our imports.) Then I went to 4 on the floor and never looked back. I could never understand two under the hump!

Tell that to GT3 Cup Cars.........

Sorry but that's a really stupid thing to say because there are cars out there that make those transition sounds that will rip your (and my) GT350 a freshly drilled second asshole.

I disagree that you should disagree with him. :D He didn't say the car would be slow. He said it would sound bad.

I agree that you disagree that he should disagree. The GT350 and R even more, are the best sounding American made cars on the road.

Note: I do realize the Z06 is still a torque converter auto but the concept is still the same where the computer shuts down the ignition system during a shift and the trans is pulling the engine down into the RPM band and the ignition is fired back up again.

I will say it could be subjective but from what I’ve heard of Audi’s, VW’s and BMW’s and Porsche’s that are DCT/DSG equipped, I very much dislike the sound. Stupid, hardly! And nothing I said has any relation to any cars performance potential. If you read it carefully I only said I don’t think a farting sound between shifts is any way for a performance car to sound.
