My 2017 GT evaporator coil is bad. I’m having trouble finding a good YouTube video on how to remove the dash. My car is an automatic does the shifter have to be removed? I want to just get in and get it done without removing anything I don’t necessarily have to remove. Thanks for the help in advance.

If you can find a factory shop manual, it'll lead you step by step. I've done this, it's a big job, but not especially difficult. I did do a few things differently than the manual calls for, I removed both front seats instead of just moving them all the way to the back, and I removed the steering column separately to make things easier. It does call for the automatic shifter to be removed, which is easily done, it makes it much easier to pull the dash assembly out. It took me about 10 hours spread over two days.
Edit: this thread may help. https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/a-c-evaporator-replaced-due-to-leak.136187/

Here this may help too - go to below link and scroll down to post #1419 - there are PDFs for pulling the dash assembly; it's from that very large EVAP Core thread in the Issues sub-forum:
https://www.mustang6g.com/forums/threads/a-c-evaporator-factory-defect.62682/page-95

This thread contains a total walk through with instructions/images:

This thread contains the Ford TSB PDF that shows how to remove the EVAP core from the HVAC box AFTER the dash has been removed from the vehicle:

I didn’t see anything of value in post 1423. Post 1419 had some killer pdf’s for a 2015 2.3 ecoboost. Wonder if the process is any different on a 2017 5.0?

Yes - Post # 1419 with the PDFs is the correct reference marker; my mistake of typo... went back and corrected.

Yes, the process is exactly the same on all US S550's from 2015-2023... same dash assembly and HVAC box assembly.
