Looking for longer, preferably custom, wheel studs to run spacers. Checked the archives, the ARP website and Google and am mystified why nobody seems to make the M14X1.5 for the Mustang (are any other car owners as stance obsessed as we are???).

Not interested in an adapter (tensile vs shear strength). Am I missing something or is nobody manufacturing longer studs? Weird.

So if you go with the slightly smaller 1/2 20 studs from ARP I'm interested to know whether the brake rotor is hub centric or does it depend on the width of the studs to be centered?

Eibach spacers come with longer studs, harder to install as you have to remove old studs first.

Looks like Optimum Performance is making a kit with slightly longer studs with all of the Ford OEM on-time-use hardware in order to promote press-in installation:
http://www.opmustang.com/store/p15/...STUD_KIT_-_OPTIMUM_PERFORMANCE_EXCLUSIVE.html

That looks like the only kit available right now outside of the wheel spacers. Might be worth getting in touch with them. Though I know some will want to install them the easy way and simply hammer out the old studs and pull the new ones in with a lug nut.

They could very well be, not sure. They're the only ones I could find who had a kit put together. Looks like there aren't too many options out there and they must have found the right studs and are making them available in a kit.

I have also ordered the Eibach 15mm kit which includes the longer wheel studs. Not to hijack but in order to install the longer studs on the rear of the S550, does the hub have to be removed or can it be done on the vehicle. Just looking with the rotor off, it appears that the hub must be removed before new studs can be installed.

Thanks for the reply. I can see there may be enough room to get the old studs out but the longer studs don't look like they will clear the spindle. I guess I will just try one and see.

We actually do distribution for Taperpro products, many who are even TUV tested and approved, they have the proper longer studs in 14x1.5
from 45mm long up to 75mm long tread length
they are a little on the higher margin side but definitely catered to racing applications.
