Here 2013 GT's are around 120K, and we are hoping that 2015 will be around 55K.
That would be in the Land of Oz?

The thing about the current V-6, or the Eco-Boost for that matter, is that either of them makes around 300 HP. But an Altima or a Accord or a ST make 270 HP. And even though they have 60% too many doors, they don't have to drag a drive shaft or rear axle around. So I'm not sure I'm sold on a 300 HP Mustang. For 300 HP maybe I'd look at a Accord coupe w/6 speed and be done with it.

So, I'm back to thinking I just have to choke on a used V-8 like you're talking about if I can't afford a new one.

I'd test drive them both if I were you. I personally can't stand FWD cars IRL or in racing games. Especially once you start adding power. If you have any desire to go to autox events or take your car to a track of any kind, FWD is going to feel a lot less exciting for you.

Also, from what I've seen, the current 300hp Mustang has a clear advantage on 0-60 (~.4 sec) and quarter mile times (~.2 sec) over the Honda Accord. There's no question that it's faster in a straight line. And corners are where FWD cars frustrate me as a driver. That said, the current Mustang isn't really that awesome at handling either (which is why I'm interested in the new one, since it's supposed to massively improve that aspect).

There is No Way I could buy a 2014 Mustang now that I've seen the 2015. Just like I told My Mom back in 04 when She was seriously considering buying an 04 Mach 1, You're gonna be sorry after you've seen the 05. I was right. She Loves her Windveil Blue 05 GT.

Hello Jamo!

I’m sure you’ll love any model year you choose. You still have time to decide which one will be the best option. Don’t hesitate to give me a shout when you have your order info. I’ll be glad to help you track it.

Have a great weekend!

There is one word I say to you - TORQUE. That's what you would likely notice (seat-of-the-pants feeling) between those models. I have "just" a 315hp 4.6L V8 but it peaks at 325ft-lb of torque. That's what gives the strong pull feeling from a stop.

I am not dissing either of those other vehicles, but when it comes to HP comparisons, I tend to look peak torque, at what RPM it is made, and how linear the powerband is from low-to-midrange in the RPM band.

IMO if you're just as content with a FWD car go that route. Less moving parts, better fuel economy and the accord coupe is about as pretty of a FWD vehicle as I've seen. I personally have no love for a front-dragger even with all the fancy torque vectoring magic except for a commuter car to and from work.

Ford's vectoring is pretty magical. I was blown away by the new Fiesta...even better than my new VW.

Don't get me wrong. I don't prefer a front wheel drive car and I don't prefer a car that isn't a Mustang, at this point.

One other thing that is off putting about the '14, it isn't a deal breaker, I guess, but it's that you have to purchase a $2200 tech package to get HD Radio. They don't cost Ford anything more and those should be standard. We'll see how the ordering is when all is revealed on April 17th.

Also, I suppose that if you can order 2015's as of April 17, that means that ordering on the 2014's will shut down at the same time. Although I find great bargains on the 2014's, I don't find them set up in the color and package I want. I pretty much have to order to be happy. So I doubt I'll be in a new 2014, but if the 2015 isn't lighter, I think I could be happy with one.

Also, if the weight on the 2015 isn't down from the 2014, that's not so desirable, either.

Can I just ask one other thing? Was there some complaint with the way the automatic transmission was set up and delivered the promise in the current six and eight cylinder 'stangs? Was there something about it lugging or shifting at too low an RPM?

Saw an ad on TV the other day by a Central Texas Ford dealer for a new base 2014 V6 for $17,648.

I've been driving by a Ford dealership for the past three years (of my new job) and they have a GTCS in CO (I think) that is a 2012 but still being sold as new! Not sure how many miles are on it- may be a few hundred. It's an auto. Original MSRP was $40,000+ but now being sold for $34,000+. I'd bet the farm that they'd let it go for close to $30 large since it's been on the lot that long. I've literally seen it on that lot now for almost 3 years. If anybody is interested I'd take a picture of it this Friday and post it.

From dubai here,

Im getting a 14 GT premium for about 32k usd. I dont have a car right now (just my busa) so Im REALLY interested in the 14.

Question is will the 15 be that much of a leap in terms of refinement and presence (v imp in dubai)?

If I get the 15 I'll get it painted grabber blue from Ford because my 10 GT was grabber blue and the attention it got was insane, it was more of a head-turner than my friends white Ferrari FF.
