Curb bang! Front bumper clearance?

Not always an option:

I've run into curbs with the front splitter on my 2011... um, hundreds of times. Luckily, it's held up fine so far -- probably a lot of underside scratches but you can't see those anyway.

My bigger problem is that, based on all of the new photos, the front end of the mustang is perfectly straight. On my 2011, the front part is angled out, so that the front license plate is the first thing to bump into anything (and I've bumped into more things than I can count, parallel parking... I've had to through six license plate frames in three and a half years because of cracking from hitting cars in front of me parallel parking). It's got me slightly nervous that my hood on my 2015 might get scratched up instead of my license plate frame...

Yeah, that's what happens when you have to do street parking every single day in a place where most times you have to drive around for 20 minutes looking for a spot vaguely within walking distance of your apartment and can only find one that gives you no more than six inches of clearance in front of and behind your car. Plus, you're guaranteed to get your wheels scratched up, since you have to park with your tires no more than three inches from the curb, or else you'll be losing your side mirrors constantly (a friend of mine has lost five side mirrors since January on his Focus). As they like to say...

Except I love driving, so I just accept it that I'm going to get dinged and dented and don't worry about little scratches and whatnot.

Yeah, in New York. The majority of my driving is in either Brooklyn or Manhattan.
Of course, I'd never in a million years want to live anyplace else, but that's a totally different story.

Glad you like it and nothing against you but there isn't enough money in the world to pay me to live in NYC. Different strokes for different folks. ;)

I enjoy visiting New York every once in a while, but to be honest the place pisses me off every single time I go there as well. I can't stand how long it takes to get anywhere in the city, it drives me insane. If someone forced me to live there, I would rather own a small motorcycle than a car. Roads are the worst I've seen outside of New Orleans, traffic sucks worse than anywhere but DC, and the subway stops every 12 feet. It's pretty much a nightmare as far as I am concerned.

Can anyone please tell me what the logic behind this is?
I admit i've seen this in one place as well, but I can't come up with a single reason why backing into all parking spots is not better every single time, always.

I can list a dozen reasons to back in and not a single to pull in forward. My 10 year old wheels don't have a single curb to them, but I always back in and hug the curb very tight.

I'm of the approach that whenever anyone sees a sign like this, they should immediately back in and fight every single instance of this; fill the whole parking lot of with people backing into spots.

Yep! Most cars have those. I leave mine in the trunk and take it out when I'm parking because it blocks the license plate.

Wow! I gotta feel for you, man. Most places I park it takes like 15 seconds and that includes grabbing my stuff, locking the car and walking away. To have to get out "armor" the car, park, and get away must take a couple of minutes at least.
