I can see a curb alert system being very useful for some folks. However, I feel that with more time spent behind the wheel you will gain more confidence in parking.
I feel fairly comfortable how far objects are from the front end. I can comfortably park much closer to the curb than what the video demonstration provided with ease.
One other thing to point out though...I wonder how this system works with dips in the asphalt. You know the dips right before the curb. You really have to watch out for those dips! If not careful it can cause your car to move forward and the front end much lower to the ground and possibly on top of a curb.
