I am pleasantly surprised at discovering a new hobby after I acquired my Mustang. I am increasingly drawn to doing tinker work on it. With the abundance of resources available online, I have gained confidence in doing things to it that I wouldn't have considered doing in the past. Having said that, I ran into this deal and I figured I would post it for those who like me are just starting out on this journey.

I have a 1/2" and 3/8" Ryobi impact wrench, along with their impact driver that I stick a socket adapter on. Really like them and they have held up for the last few years just fine. Awesome for rusty bolts, suspension bolts, wheel lugs...

I don't have the highest model 1/2" impact though, just the mid-range. Would not minding having that one for those stubborn bolts.

Make sure you get the highest rated batteries (you can find them online) to get the full performance out of the tool

This one has the high performance batteries x2. I don’t know why the drastic discount though. Maybe a new model coming soon.

It’s probably being discontinued for a new model as you state.

Ryobi makes quality tools. My father in law has a few including a table saw. He really likes them. I have a mish mash of tool brands, I’ve been meaning to give Ryobi a try. I’ll have to wander over to HD and see what sales I can take advantage of. Thanks for posting, my wife will be thrilled 🤣

I thought this was the normal price. I may be out of touch, though

Thanks for posting deal suggestions. I hope we can keep this thread active for all tools car related.

Ryobi makes lots of tools for the one plus platform but I find that most are really not that good at their designated function. Im hoping its not a typo but the cost of two HP batteries alone is $199. I too have ego and craftsman tools and Im hoping to transition to ryobi after the craftsman fails (10 yrs old now)

I am not brand loyal although most of my wrenches and sockets are Craftsman (the good ol Craftsman not the current Craftsman). Power tools are a mix of DeWalt, Craftsman, Porter Cable, Makita, Milwaukee and Skil.

It finally arrived. Its a beast! I think I can undo a bridge with this thing. From the box, it looks like overstock designed for Europe as evidenced by he french label. If I buy the 2 batteries alone it is 199 based on current pricing. Its a keeper.

Got a link to that exact deal?

Seems like maybe they have already sold out, or adjusted the price to meet demand

Thanks First Stang, just bought the impact kit, great deal. It showed as sold out so I clicked on email me when back in stock. It took 2 days for their email but I got the deal.

My B-I-L bought all Ryobi stuff. They have a tool for just about anything. His stuff has held up well and always did the job.

I like to tinker and wrench on all of my own stuff. My kids got me a DeWalt impact driver and drill ~5 years ago. So, I got hooked into the DeWalt battery eco system. So far so good with their stuff as well. I got a compact 1/2" drive impact and it is money.

Be careful with the tool acquisition addiction. I got hit with this wonderful addiction in my early 20's. The only thing worse is the car addiction. Not only do I have way too many tools, but I have this obsession with finding US made hand tools. Not cheap and getting harder to find. So, full tool box=empty wallet. I kind of justify it by doing all of my own maintenance and repairs, which I enjoy doing.

My latest thing is building out a road box. I already have a road box set up and it is more than adequate to take on just about anything. A few months ago I found a 70's era Craftsman all steel tombstone type box, one with the fold out trays in super nice shape for $20. So instead of moving the tools from my existing road box over, I'm just slowly building it out with new purchases. I have a list for it and ticking off 1 or 2 items per month. I consider it a "hobby" and will have the new road box filled out in a year or so. I may get it all together and give it to one of my sons and start the process over again.
