Has anyone figured out a way to start the car and have Cruise Control "ON" as the default? I am getting tired of selecting ON every time I drive the car. My left thumb is getting Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. There must be a law that states that it has to be in the OFF mode when the car starts.

it's so difficult to hit a button one time to actuate. try your index finger instead.

I have to agree with OP. I owned 2 Mazda's at the same time and drove both often. The MX-5 Cruise control stayed on all the time, the Mazda 3 did not. And while it seems like just a little thing, it is annoying not to have it once you get used to using it.

This place is starting to read like a damn camaro forum. Pushing a cruise control button takes too much effort? F@ck me running.

How about this bull$hit about having to push the start button every frickin time I want the engine to be on!? I mean WTF!
And if I shut the car off with the radio all the way cranked, I want that $hit the same level when I start it 10 hours later at 5a.m. And have it scare the $hit out of me.
I got rights yo.

This is how Ford's cruise controls have worked for decades.

It really depends on the car manufacturer. I've had cars that work either way. On my BMW it stayed on.

Honestly, having an on/off button for a cruise control is superfluous. The best solution I've seen is on Mercedes. It's such a no-brainer:

On Mercedes' cars there is no "On/Off" button for your cruise control. You either activate the cruse control by setting it to your desired speed or you don't. The act of setting the speed turns it on. Simply hit cancel or tap your brake to turn it off. Hit resume to continue were you left it. All cruise control functions are there; the on/off switch is not needed.

Is there an update on this, is there anything you can do with ForScan?
