Good morning folks, I did a bunch of research the past couple days so I apologize if I missed something. I purchased a tune via lund back in august. no issues other than needing to do a crank relearn with VCM scanner which was successful, it has you follow prompts and raise engine rpms etc..

Fast forward to now. I had a new mcleod twin disk, flywheel, throw out bearing and kooks long tubes installed. DTC in screenshot wants a crank relearn but everytime I go to do it, it just says "crank relearn successful" without prompting me to do anything like rev to certain RPM.

2017 Mustang GT

Things I have tried
-multiple crank relearns
-KAM reset
-battery disconnect for 30+min
-reflash lund tune

all to no avail, screenshot attached

You didn't misplace the ring behind the flywheel when installing the new clutch right?

That would probably rule that out. Seemed odd that it won't do the relearn. Good luck figuring it out.

im revisiting this because the car has been running fine for 7k miles. crank position CEL wont go away but car runs/drives fine.

i have flashed back to stock because i remember someone with a similar issue but now i cant find that thread.

hoping it will self reset with stock flash as i think the initial cause was the lund tune not allowing the code to clear itself. car is running and driving fine on stock tune and intake right now. still have CEL though

yes on procedure.

new development... I uninstalled/reinstalled HPT software on my laptop and loaded stock tune, CEL is out, p0315 remains in background but should clear with some driving as it is no longer "active". Ill post updates and hope this helps someone down the road

also, after reinstalling HPT software... I can actually run the crank relearn procedure.

I'm having the same issue after i did a tune form lund. What version of VCM scanner are you using? every time I try to do crank relearn the menu in VCM scanner appears blank.

you have to have the clutch pedal depressed on a manual car to do the relearn

Good info - I’ve seen so many threads of folks saying they can’t get the crank relearn to work using XYZ methods… they’re probably forgetting to engage the clutch on a manual equipped S550 for the relearn procedure.

There has been some issues with VCM scanner and crank re-learn, maybe the latest version has it fixed?

Glad it worked out for you. I won't even try it with the scanner and use my SCT X4 which works everytime.
