I have no clue at this point. They just ordered the hood so I imagine it will be a few days to a week before they are ready for me to bring the car over so then can mount the new, painted, striped hood. I may get the price when I pick it up.

I sure would slow down and wait till it is determined what the cause is and the fix........otherwise you get to do it again ......

I used to work with fiberglass. Repairing cracks like that would never be as strong as original. If you cant bear to replace the hood, then its worth a try, but the root of the problem has to be discovered or it most certainly will happen again because the repair isn't as strong as the original structure.
In case some members don’t know, all Corvettes bodies are made from SMC.

Just found start of a crack drivers side almost inline with hood pin and bumper stop for hood. Ironic that this is the side that the locking pin works great on the drivers side, but sticks on passenger side

I like to disassemble things.
Either side of your hood elevated when the hood is shut and latched properly?

Passenger is slight and , I will measure tomorrow to be exact. If I had to guess it's under 1/16", Driver side without measuring feels smooth. nothing to the extreme like HK's car.

Somebody's gotta be first... HK Identified the issue, now Ford has to identify the cause or call @Epiphany. The man is on to something!

Ford doesn't have to do anything except replace each hood under warranty conditions upon demand. How many average joes would ever notice such cracks. Most won't, so Ford will replace the onsies, twosies that come along.

Don't expect a recall..... this isn't a brake pedal bracket.

That is an entirely valid point. If they aren't under a mandate to report or recall it may be better (from a financial perspective) to just deny what they can get away with and pay for what they can't.
