I'll probably get flamed for this but does anyone else think that some of these headers/cat-less systems make the exhaust sound like a import with a big fart can out back.

I just watched/Listened the Corsa Header video and I'm in trouble if that's how the Coyote really sounds uncorked. Flame suit on!!!!

The best part about the platform is the amount of options.. Everyone has a setup that they prefer, and that is awesome.. That being said, I definitely have my favorites!!!

Maybe I need to put a compilation video together so I can choose.

I agree 100%. I think the Coyote is a beautiful sounding motor but it's very easy to make it sound import like. I've never understood the Corsa love affair that many have as it sounds raspy and metallic to me yet, I hear it on the streets all the time so to each his own.

Also, of all the V8 vehicles, I've noticed the Mustang has the largest component of former import owners. As such, it's possible they prefer a more import sound compared to the traditional V8 rumble which is what I wanted.

This is what I think sounds best if you're looking for the traditional V8 rumble, H-Pipe with muffler delete. But some commented that it makes the Mustang sound like a dinosaur. There's something for everyone.

Trying to make the Coyote sound like an old school muscle car results in drone or, at best, a very boomy cabin. Embrace the modern muscle sound or enjoy the headaches.

Sweet, another exhaust thread!

That said, the sweet spot for me is the stock resonator and Ford Racing Touring axle back as I prefer old school but a little more subtle in terms of noise level. But everyone has their preference.

I absolutely love the sound of this engine, which is why I like to rev it. When it starts rasping in the high RPMs... I can't get enough of it. With my Gibson racing exhaust it sounds mean when I go wide open.

I ran into similar issues. Some exhausts just sound too hollow and raspy to me.
I went from Solo Performace Street Race to Mach Thunder. The difference is pretty big. The Mach Thunder sounds much more restrained and European with its' resonated x-pipe.

Some of the worst sounding coyotes have been those trying to force an old school muscle car exhaust tone.

The coyote is a high revving, DOHC engine with a completely different firing order than older modular. It will never sound like a Windsor, and every attempt I have heard so far makes it drone like mad and sound like chit.

The Corsa is the best system that accentuates the coyote instead of trying to force it to be something it’s not.

It’s funny, people used to bitch all the time about how the 4.6L sounded like shit…and how to make is sound more like the 5.0 windsor.

I like my exhaust, it was to raspy at 1st, had some small IMCA Bullet muffles welded into the h pipe, and smoothed it all out!
