Sounds pretty normal to me. The pop/click sound is a little different than anything I've noticed but doesn't sound worrisome to my layman's ear.

Yeah, I know it is funny name and truth is I could not find better words to describe it while having enough confidence that it is understood the way I expect it.cockchafer sounds like a phallic themed limo driver
I completely understand being curious and wanting to know what makes the noises. I doubt your dealer mechanic will know for sure what each noise is either. And if he says he knows he's probably confident about a lot of other somewhat questionable things.@Tucker80 @Hack @PoCoBob @DrewT @Cux211
Thanks guys for all the replies. I guess I must have sounded a bit paranoid, but the truth is that I really do not know, what is the normal sound (at the cold start) and I am genuinely curious about what causes the different sounds and why. I am a bit worried about the popping sounds because it is irregular, but it could as well be normal for this type of engine.
I definitely did not want frame the question as I am scared to start my car because of all these strange sounds it makes.
I agree with what many suggested - the car is new, and if it sounds like that the chances are it is perfectly normal and I should not worry. If something really happens I can still apply the warranty and have a Ford dealer fix it (though it may not be that straightforward here).
I might still want to understand it though![]()

Get yourself an automotive stethoscope. Probe each area of the engine slowly, and try to pinpoint the sounds. Be really careful with this thing, even slight noises are loud as shit through it, and can hurt your ears if you aren't carfulToday when picking up my car at the dealer, where it was for a different repair, but I asked them to check the cold start as well, they confirmed that it sounded the same as the other Mustangs in the dealership they tried. So nothing to worry about.
However, I would still like to understand from where or from what those sounds come.
The rattling from 0 seconds to 30 seconds is pistons rattling in their bores until they expand a little bit and take up more space. This is an inherent noise in the gen 3 coyote.Today when picking up my car at the dealer, where it was for a different repair, but I asked them to check the cold start as well, they confirmed that it sounded the same as the other Mustangs in the dealership they tried.
