Am I reading correctly that the PP will no longer be offered with an automatic tramission? I need an auto, and I was planning to get a 2017 Grabber Blue convertible. Premium GT convertible, add the PP, put some black 350 stripes on it, ect. This car will need some black accents to balance it out. Can I get around this auto issue if I order a California Edition? Just looking for some advice on the basics layout I should be ordering for my 2017 Grabber Blue Auto convertible.

Uh Hank, I hate to be the one to break it to you but you're absolutely backwards.

The PP option is exclusive of the Auto trans option, as in you can't have both from the factory in the same car. They have not made any Auto Transmission Performance package cars. The Shelbys also do not come with Automatic transmissions. Welcome to the S550 World.

Not entirely true, you could get the 50th LE with an Auto and PP, but that was it so far for the S550!

Another option, Hank, is to do what I'm going to do, since they didn't even offer the PP on 2015 convertibles at all (even though I got a manual!) I plan to swap out my brakes for the PP brakes once my factory ones are ready to be changed. Ford Racing sells the PP brake kit (both front and rear) to convert mine over for around $1700. The PP is a $2500 option, and didn't have wheels I liked anyway. There are a few other Performacne bits that could easily be swapped out later too, but the brakes was the big one. The other was the engine turned aluminum dash with the center gauges, which I can easily swap out later on if I really want it too. I already went aftermarket with the springs and would likely do so with other suspension bits anyway, so not a huge loss there. Here's a list of what you don't get since you can't get the PP:

• Strut-tower Brace (get the 20" wheel package and you'll get this standard!)
• Larger Radiator (Go A/M or find a used one)
• Unique Chassis Tuning (Not sure what all is really done here that A/M can't do better!)
• Upsized Rear Sway Bar (Easily find one used from someone who went A/M or go A/M yourself)
• Heavy-Duty Front Springs (go A/M or easily find someone selling used)
• K-Brace (already comes on convertibles)
• Brembo™ 6-Piston Front Brake Calipers with Larger Rotors (Get the FR kit)
• 19 X 9-inch (F) 19” X9.5” (R)Ebony Black-Painted Aluminum Wheels (Summer Tires Only) (Better off going A/M or get the 20" wheels that look much better IMO)
• Unique Stability Control, EPAS & ABS Tuning (Not sure what all is really done here)
• 3.73 TORSEN® Rear Axle (I find the 3.55 optional axle is great, but could upgrade this aftermarket if you really want it)
• Gauge Pack (Oil Pressure and Vacuum) (Find a used one if you really want it)
• Spoiler Delete (can option this separately like I did)

Danny, much thanks for your suggestions. It gives me a framework to think through the possible modifications I might want to do in the future. The other thing I was curious about ordering a Premium GT Convertible vs a California edition. Does that change the mechanicals much, or is that about the emblems etc. Thanks!

Nothing changes with the mechanicals, except you can't get the GTPP with the GT/CS. GT/CS is 100% appearance.
