Stopped by my local Ford dealership and got sticker shock from a 2025 GT Convertible. How is the younger generation going to be able to afford a Mustang?

MSRP:

Offer $7.5k less and go from there. Dealers are having difficulty selling the S650's. Use it to an advantage.

$70k for a regular convertible GT is insane. The problem with this level of pricing is two-fold:

- If people pay it, Ford will continue to increase prices.
- If people don't pay it, Ford will use it as justification to stop making these cars.

There are many cars for this price level that I would rather have than a Mustang.

you don't get colored calipers with the PP anymore?

70k is luxury car money, in no way shape or form should a Mustang GT be able to be optioned to 70k but Ford figures there are some dumdumbs that will buy it eventually

This is why I search, and wait, and search some more until I find a good used deal.

Don't get me wrong - I've purchased a few new in the past, and sure, I enjoyed them. But now the prices outrun the shrinking value of the dollar.

So it's time for someone else to eat the worst of the depreciation.

JMHO.

Or buy one with a couple thousand miles on it that was an impulse buy for the first owner. Save $$$$

Wow! That would in excess of CDN$100K. That is over double what I paid out the door for my well optioned Ecoboost in 2018. You get to that level and there is a lot of choice. Or you could buy a vanilla daily driver and a vintage Mustang.
