Just picked up a used 2020 GT Premium Convertible. Car is fantastic! Lots of fun. Can't wait for the weather to warm up a bit some the wife and I can enjoy some top-down fun.
Car has the 9-speaker sound system. Doesn't suck but could certainly use some improvement. I'm still mulling my options on a subwoofer. JBL spare tire sub, down-firing enclosure, etc. Too bad the Infinity Stealthbox only fits the coupe (aargh). Is what it is. I'll figure out the sub thing. Where I can't find much info is the rear side speakers. I've seen all the posts on front speakers, and since the coupe and 'vert are the same there, there's plenty of info to dig through. Not some much for the convertible rears. From what I think I've figured out from Crutchfield etc., they're shallow 6 1/2s. I also think I've read that software rolls off the bass on these. Any truth to that? What can I do to bring some level of sound performance to the back of the car? I know a bunch of you are happy to focus on the front sound stage. Certainly that's where you get the most bang for the buck, but my wife says she misses the depth of having just music from the front. Keep in mind we're old.... LOL! We grew up with cassette decks and just 6x9s in the rear package tray. My Pioneer KP500 and Jensen 6x9s made my '65 coupe rock! We're used to having sound behind us!
Thoughts?
