That's what I figured. I've heard people say the front 3.5s made the most difference although some say it made the highs a little harsh. I didn't notice any difference after the Ford Performance tune.329s will make the most difference followed by the rear638s. I would test without replacing the door woofers first. I'm considering putting the stock 6.5 door woofers back in. Someday. When I'm really, really bored. Speakers will help but the amp is the real issue.
Did you notice a difference in bass after your tune?
I don't know what exactly they did with the Ford Performance tune regarding the sound symposer. There are multiple pieces to it; the mic in the rear of the headliner is only to provide noise cancellation. It picks up sounds, decides which should be cancelled and plays it back 180* out of phase at an appropriate amplitude to cancel it. That may have been left in place, hopefully.
The other part of it is the sound injection to enhance the engine sound. That is most likely what was disabled and should not impact the reproduction of music.
