And thank you all for your input! I honestly have thought about the 5c but would like to be able to drive the car to an event if needed. Just wonder if it would be too much.

You switching for another setup?

If guys are pulling a 1.3x 60 foot on a 3c I honestly dont see how I'd need much more than that.
yes going from a 4200 rpm stall to a 3200 rpm stall now that i have the D1x blower...in the process i will be flushing the factory fill trans fluid in favor of amsoil sig series atf fluid and a updated tune..im more street then track so i don't need that much stall...

Your original post said mainly track. With that being said Id do the 4c over 3c. I run a 4c in my car and its a daily driver. No issues at all. Yes it does rev more during light acceleration, but thats comes along with the performance advantage of a higher stall speed. when the converter locks, its just like stock. RPM drop is less between shifts also. If you get the 3c you will constantly think "what would it do with the 4c???)....

I have an FTI 3800 stall for my D1-X setup, but don't have it installed yet. Just to give you something else to consider, there was a lot of praise for FTI when I was looking for options.

4c to 5c for sure, a good tuner will be able to keep the converter locked for street use. feel free to hit me up with any questions

Yeah I’m going to be replacing my 5c with an FTI 3200 stall with my D1x set up. Like you mine is not installed yet.. but soon...

Another vote for the 4c. I have a paxton and the stall gets you off the line like a roots blower. And it seams to get you in the boost much faster. Love this set up.

I have a fti 3800.stall with a d1sc and hit mid 1.4 60 ft and running nines. The convertor is tight on the street and hardly feel any slip under light throttle.I think the gear u run has alot to do with how a convertor feels also.

All I've heard since buying a Mustang is Circle D, how do these FTI units compare?

My experience with my circle d 5c is that you feel it slipping on the street all the time. It lends itself to an on off type performance. Its not civil on the street it just wants to be flogged wot where it performs best. One of the main reasons why i chose fti over re-stalling my 5c or going down to a 2c is the Fti converters have a reputation for being civil under normal driving but at the same time being an animal wot. Tommy v confirms this in his post. They also cost less then circle d's and the offer a lifetime warranty for an extra $199 can't wait to get mine in. My tuner /installer is gonna get me in the end next week for the exchange. I Also have a buyer who uses my tuner as well for my 5c...

Awesome, thank you for info @Dominant1 . Please report back once you've had a chance to test yours. I'll definitely consider an FTI unit when I'm ready for a converter.

I have about 3000 miles on mine so far and alot of 1/4 mile passes and seems fine so far.If u were to.drive my car i bet u would not even know it had a convertor. But i went from a 1.73 60 ft to a 1.44 60 ft just from the convertor.
