Convenience package returning?

Ford screwed up the seats after 2007, my 07 focus has great seats and position, my 09 focus sucks too narrow too tall, gave that car to my mom. I bought a set of 2012 mustang seats and put them in, but back was too short for my long torso, gave me back ache after hour in them. My explorer and f350 are good seats. Ford seems to think we are 5.5 to 5.8 140 165 pounds.

I assume that they base what they make on averages. I'm lucky that Recaros fit me perfect. I'm 5',9" about 200lbs. The convenience seats are nice, I'd actually probably prefer them, but then again....there is something about seeing the Recaros in any type of car that makes me think "special".

You said if you are big the seats won't work for you. I'm big they work fine. So defining big is helpful

This site is for information nearly 300 exceeds most peoples definition of big.

I am 6'1 205lbs, but i've also had a friend who is 6'3 295lbs in the car and he also found the recaro's comfortable. Unfortunately for something like seat comfort its not going to be something that you can just read online and find someone with the same height and weight and decide based on their experiences if the seats are comfortable or not. I suggest looking for a member in your geography and asking if you could sit in their recaro's and see for yourself. This is what i did because i had the same concern. What i found was that the Recaro's were snug but i found them very comfortable, the comfort package didn't offer as much bolstering as i was looking for.

I have the tech/convenience seats as I am 6'2' 290. Tried the recaros out in a new car and they squeezed too tight at the hip bolsters. I did track attack on April 3 and found the 2015 cars with broken in recaros felt just fine. There is a huge difference from new to well broken in . Also read somewhere on here that bolsters can be bent/adjusted outward safely?

I'm 6'1 and 220 and I have the Recaro's. They were tight on my hips for a week or so but they fit really good now. I DD mine and have no complaints. I don't only have 1,000 miles on mine though.

While it's not 100% verified that the Convenience seats will return, my guess would be that they are coming back as an option, but you may see dealer holds on them again if they become hard to get from the factory.

The reason you're not finding convenience packages on the showroom floors now? There was a hold from Ford on them early in the year and dealers didn't want to hold up their orders so changed them to Recaro's.. I'd be willing to guess that we'll be seeing a big batch of Convenience package cars coming in the next few months to round out the 2017's.

Lots of '17's sitting on showroom floors with Recaro's right now. When I initially started looking last year, all the cars on the showroom floor had Convenience seats in them and hence, I had to wait many months for my order to go through becuase of that (I could have driven a new one home and saved myself months of waiting if I had only wanted the Convenience seats lol).

Don't give up hope, they'll be coming soon.

I have the Convenience Package seats and want Recaro's. I can fix the preference for Convenience seats for one person at least. I'm about to make a post about this exact thing. Hit me up if you want to look at swapping them out.

Skeletal build has everything to do with it.

I'm 5'10, 195 lbs and the Recaros on the Track Pack started to bother me in the afternoon. Just the seat, not the seat back. Felt like my entire pelvis was being compressed.

Different shapes, different sizes. Not everyone is "you".

Two drivers can be of the same height but have a 4 in difference in leg length with the difference being their torso--this creates totally different seating positions, how close to the steering wheel you sit etc. Short or long torso can also cause issues with seat height and a higher seat height can also cause issues when getting in or out.

If your close to the steering wheel (be it short leg length or gut causing it) it can be hard getting in and out because of the side bolsters.

Again, not everyone is you. The world is not about you. You fit fine with Recarros, that is great for 'you'.

Yes that why I said you have to define big and to your point a whole lot of things. People have said repeatedly if you are big the Recaros wont work. I was meerly responding to that, Im well aware everyone Is shaped differently.

I tend to overact to blanket misleading statements on the internet, since they end up sticking and people often dont take the time to research things. Characters issue im working on.

I ran across the same problem with the recaro's when purchasing mine in April ...... no way on a 2 hour drive .......... it was the convenience package or nothing for me. Sneed's Ford in Waynesboro had a white one and Koons in Falls Church had 4 on the lot, all with the convenience package .......... ;-)

Another 757 owner...Ive only seen about 4 around here.

Shocked that you can no longer get a Shelby GT350 with the convenience package. I love the non-Recaros with the heating/cooling options, plus the other goodies. Just got this from a Ford customer service rep:

"At this time, the Convenience Package (67U) Convenience Package has Balanced Out for the remainder of the 2017 year on the GT350. It is no longer available for ordering."

If they don't produce the non Recaro seats there will be a lot less sold. If you are a big guy, the Recaro's are pure pain.

What I find funny about this is I read so many people posting how grateful they are that the car is only available in a 6-speed because automatics are for wussies yet I see a lot of people who want this pure track car to have plush, non-track seats

Just an observation. I love manuals and have driven them all my life and I get the seat comfort thing (I'm older).
