Pull down the glove box door, check around in there

pull up the rear seat cushions

pull off the center console knee bolsters, or pull up the center console

look under front seats

peel up carpet

Pull off kick panels

I mean, it’s not that difficult to track down the sound, then start pulling things apart to find the device triggering the sound…

State Farm just asked me to use their tracking device to save 15% on my insurance. I also wonder if it’s something like that.

It comes on after I start my car and wait about 10 seconds. If I put my ear to it, it sounds like it’s actually coming from what looks to be a speaker next to the dial on the radio.
No one has been in my car besides my wife after I get in my car. I park my car in my garage so no one has access to it. I just cleaned everything out and nothing is under my seat, or in the glove.
I will make a new video from me walking to the car, unlocking it, then starting it.
It just amazes me that no one has encountered this same problem. Very strange.

There aren't any speakers behind the bezel for the sync head unit. Do you mean this bit of dash trim?

If you suspect the sound is coming from behind the trim it's fairly easy to remove with some basic trim removal tools. I'd tear that dash apart to look for that irritating beeping.

No one seems to have encountered this because it's (probably) not normal for a Ford. I've owned seven different cars made by Ford, none of them ever made the sound in your video in the sequence of events you've described. 🤷‍♂️

Nothing related to the car itself sounds like that. There must be an aftermarket device somewhere.

I was just about to make another video and I put the car on the ON position without starting. 10 seconds later it started beeping.

it was much easier to track down the sound with the car off. It ended up being my drive cam that was mounted above my Escort radar.

Thank you all!!

Oh. You didn't mention having a radar detector or a dash camera.

Well... at least you located the source, which explains why no one else hasn't experienced the issue! 🤣

It's amazing at what devices will cause the most annoying noises...

You got bit by the sound reflecting off the glass. I actually pulled the dash out of a 745Li (twice!) for a rattle that ended up being in the rear view mirror. Me and another tech were absolutely convinced the rattle was coming from behind the dash. Acoustics can be “enlightening”.

A couple of explanations are possible that I could think of.
Does the beeping happen at random or at specific times?

1. The original owner leased or financed the car. Dealers will install a tracking device in the passenger kick panel or under the scuff plate. Makes repossession easier.

2. Someone dropped a digital watch in your car somewhere. Could be the previous owner playing a prank on you. Or they unknowingly left it in the car someplace. Check the glove box and in behind it. Check the gap under the center stack on top of the transmission tunnel.

3. There is a telematics device connected to the ODB port for recording driving habits. For insurance or parental purposes.
I know my buddy found a tracker on his car when he got it home it was on drivers side up under the dash, he literally drove it home from dealer when bought and immediately removed the unit but he never said it beeped etc The sound here really does sound like a watch alarm I'll be surprised if it ends up being a watch in the car somewhere lol, best bet would be to really determine where exactly it is coming from then concentrate on that area.
