I'm 6'4" and nobody could fit behind me in a Mustang in my normal seating position. In a pinch I could definitely curl up and push my seat forward enough for someone to sit behind me, though.

I'd say it depends on how often you need to carry people around with you with all 4 seats full. I would buy the GT350 and use it when you can drive alone or with only 1 or 2 passengers. Take a different vehicle when you need all 4 of the seats.

Definitely the GT350 is worth it. Don't buy an SUV!

yes, i recently sold my supercharged 2018 mustang gt. Im not impressed by the new gt350 for the price after driving a few, which is why i laugh at the "you just gotta drive it and the choice will be made" because i just dont get it. Its not worth the premium in my opinion over a regular GT/pp1. However, i would absolutely LOVE to have a shelby gt350 like the picture earlier in this post.

I ended up going with a camaro 2ss 1le for about 15k cheaper. I only really sold the mustang because a) it wasnt a manual and i wanted manual again, and b) i got offered more for it than i put into it.

that said, i do hope OP loves the new gt350s as they are nice cars and an extra mustang member. I just recommended otherwise due to the family reasons and wouldnt really recommend any mustang or camaro if those things are an issue at all. if its a non issue like some seem to say...then im not sure why the zl1 was excluded for that reason but the gt350 isnt.

also to note, if the OP is looking for something that will FEEL more powerful than his scatpack, i dont think the gt350 on the street is going to do so given its rev happy nature. Thats why i also said him and his family really just need to drive one, in addition to everyone "fitting" lol
So you decided to stop in the gt350 forum and say your not impressed with the gt350 and itā€˜s overpriced. Got it

He did say it was his "opinion".... Thank GOD we don't all have the same opinion.

Its not worth the premium in my opinion over a regular GT/pp1.
If we all had the same opinion, we would ALL be driving a Ford Performance Blue with White OTT stripes, and Recaro seats GT350. We sure would ALL look good.............................. in my opinion!

Get the Shelby. Or, the Mach 1. Or, the Bullitt. You will be happy.

Since you watched Ford VS Ferrari, you got the itch. That only happens to a Ford buyer because the others have went bankrupt and/or do not have the family ownership which to some extent still exists. The ticker symbol, F, is the same ticker since the company went public in 1956. FCA and GM both went under govt control and do not have the culture or legacy.

Those that "get it" get it. Those that don't need to see Ford VS Ferrari. That scene where Henry Ford II starts to get emotional and even sobs because his father was not there to see the 427 Ford GT gets to the heart of it all.

Get the Shelby, or the Bullitt, or the GT, or the Mach I. It is the last all American icon. Holman Moody, Shelby, Roush, etc, etc. You will be part of that.

I'm an old guy and have owned several muscle cars dating to the 60s. Never GM because the guy across the street had Chevys and my Dad bought Fords. But, did I did have a couple Mopars, such as the 383 Roadrunner. But my heart was to own a Ford because the Ford family owned part of the company. The 429 CJ had massive intake ports, the 427 MR had sodium filled exhaust and hollow intake valves. The Boss 429, 351, 302 and then the later Cobras. Here is an engine that dates to the mid 60s and Ford is the same company that made this engine 60 years later. Legacy is something rare today.

So you sold your supercharged 2018 Mustang GT which had an automatic transmission and you were not impressed with the NA aspirated 5.2 FPC and manual transmission GT350 and that was based purely on the GT350 being overpriced?

Not sure if you are aware but the GT350 was not designed to be a straight line car such as your SC 2018 Mustang GT but was more centered around having superior braking, handling, steering and a high revving track car.

If you think that your SC 2018 Mustang GT would have held a candle to a GT350 on a road course which was what the GT350 was developed for I suggest that you think again.

As far as owning a 1965 GT350 pictured earlier I am with you all the way but unless you have $400,000 to $500,000 sitting around in your piggy bank I suggest that you keep dreaming like the rest of us.

I said i test drove a couple gt350..or did you not read that? I didnt care for it at all over a "regular" mustang. Read more next time.

I now own a ss 1le that competes with the 350/r around a track so you completely missed the point. By your logic i wouldn't own this car either. I also never mentioned my gt competing with the gt350 around a track, so you are arguing with yourself at this point and looking silly doing so.

Try again

Some of you shelby guys think that people just go out of their way to come to "your forum". its all one big forum. If gt owners werent allowed..there would be a block. You never go on the "regular forums"? Interesting. Also, new topics post up on the main page (the title of this thread said nothing about a gt350) Some of you also really struggle with the fact that not everyone has the same opinion with you and is overly enthralled by the gt350. Thats my least favorite thing about this forum vs zl1 owners on the camaro forum. You dont really see any elitism like that. At least not all shelby owners are this way :)

Other than that..this forum is better hands down.

100%. And i agree they look nice as well. Just not worth the premium to me. I can afford one, but even if i was a millionaire its not worth it imo

I’m pretty sure everyone in the gt350 ā€œsub forumā€ has pretty close to the same opinion of the car. Thatā€˜s why they bought it. I don’t see defending ones car as elitism. Do you think it would go over well if I went over to the zl1 forum and told everyone there car was a pos? I think Shelby owners are proud and passionate about their cars, not elite. If some come across that way that’s not cool, I certainly am not trying to be that way.

The forums are open to everybody but when your posts in a GT350 forum consist of "unreliable", "overpriced", "not impressed", etc...expect to get called out on it especially when you've never owned or really driven one.

I am 5' 7" and I was impressed with rear seating in the GT-350. It is by far the roomiest rear seat in all the Mustangs I have owned. Definitely much roomier than my '68 GT-350. I don't plan on having many people in the back seat but I was fairly comfortable seating in the back for 45 minutes.

I dont think youve read all of my posts judging from this.

I have given the gt350 kudos many times. Its just not for me which some people dont seem to understand. I also recommended OP drives one and see what he thinks and hoped he would like it. So dont only see what posts from me fit your narrative.

Also..multiple times in this thread people said driving one would be all it takes. Which i disagreed with..people didnt seem to like that. Now you say me driving a couple multiple times isnt enough..so..

Defending is one thing. But there has been definite elitism from a few owners on this forum. I just dont care to bring up the examples as i dont care to type it all out. I didnt specifically mention you or anyone in this post as being elitist. Whoever it strikes a nerve with, that might be a sign. I was referring mainly to other people on this forum. I even mentioned that most shelby owners are not this way. I have given kudos to the gt350 many times. I came here to a thread about op asking for opinions. I said i wasnt impressed..and some people couldnt seem to handle that. Funny.

The OP asked for opinions and info. Go figure. Hearing from people that opted NOT to get it is helpful as well.
