Complete engine failure

Brought my v6 into the dealership on Tuesday, rod knock and metal shavings found in oil. They decided to replace the engine. Anyone gone through this before? How long will it take before I'm driving again? I called today and they said they're waiting on things from ford.

I would guess a few weeks...they probably order a short block.
That means wait for Ford warranty approval, freight ship basic engine to dealer, then they pull your engine and pull accessories like AC, alternator, etc and install on new motor....then reinstall...
