18+ manifold and intake is actually very efficient at making power compared to previous years.
Also majority CAI are now closed box like stock, not like open box before for those V6...

I tried a CAI and the stock 2018 (I have a 2018 GT Premium). I did install a dry flow air filter in the stock unit. I could tell no seat of the pants difference.

However, in stop and go traffic the CAI inlet temps would rise rapidly, 10 degrees per minute on a 90 degree day.

I reinstalled the stock assembly and the temps would rise about 2 - 3 degrees per minute. Huge difference in this regard.

Cold air intakes do make a difference. With these modern mustangs, it's getting harder and harder make better flowing intakes but they still manage to squeeze more than what OEM offers. It's the aftermarket tuning that truly makes the difference. The aftermarket intake system serves to compliment the more demanding tuning.

I have a 2019 GT/PP1. On my 11 and 15 i had the JLT cold air intake installed. I have read the 18/19 stock air box works as while or in some cases better. Is this true? what HP and torque gains would i see with just a custom tune only?
PMAS or JLT intakes are the way to go along with a tune to company them. Great gains to be had with those combos. We sell them here at www.lethalperformance.com
