it has an engine!
awesome posts as usual RB!

That is cool that DSS changed the design of the Mustang shafts to mimic the last gen Supra... those diffs are way easy to swap out thanks to that very feature. Although dropping the tank was never needed on them. Shoot, in pinch I swapped one out in the driveway at home because I didn't feel like running up to the shop, getting a car off the lift, then putting the Supra up there. If wheels and shafts had to come out I would've went up to the shop for sure.

All buttoned up, head to Detroit in the early am to get the BCM flashed back to the stock gears. Then a 3+ hr ride to Osceola Drag Strip in Indiana to see the payoff for staying in 3rd gear at the Big End. I'm tired I think you guys will know what the pics are if not just ask.

Oh man, you still had the 2 1/4" reducers in, that's a huge bottle neck on your setup. Glad to see it removed.

Both...had my own performance shop for a while. Started with mk3 in early 90s, had an FD rx7 in between, got a mk4 in 98 that I sold a decade later(single turbo k27, etc), lasted a few months before getting another mk4, had an m3 4dr overlapping as dd along with the supras, then got an e92 m3 vert, then sold the last mk4... mustangs finally caught my attention once Ford stepped up there game with bringing their global architecture levels back to the home front in force during recession re-org, the coyote proved itself for a few years, and the latest body style came to be. :) Finally the GT in the name means a GT! ;)
Sorry for the sidebar folks... just noticing some familiar well built methods for getting reliable power to the ground on RB's ride. He's definitely doin' it right!

RB - good luck on your runs!

Made it to Watson Racing to have some magic done. Thank you Watson Racing for your Racer support.
No trailer issues with the boards under the front wheels. :clap2:

I should've been more clear but I was sleepy. I cut those off awhile back, I've had questions about how I did it, so I snapped a few shots while they were off to show.

3.15s passed 200 mile test

A 200 mile trip from WATSON Racing back to the camp, the 3.15s were glad to be out of the unemployment line and back to work. Running 78 mph with an 11 second 3,900 lb corn fed car getting 20 mpg...Thanks LUND Racing. Unfortunately the track is closed tonight, my next chance is a 400+ mile round trip to Milan on Sunday, let's hope the weather holds out.

CJ CAI Heat Shield

First I have to thank my Dad BOBS550 for UPSing me his remnants of ABS plastic from his previous Mustangs. I decided to use the 1/8", it's much easier to work with than 1/4". As you can see the Ranger tailgate gets a workout frequently, in this case a nice straight edge to use as a brake. A heat gun, saw, clay, imagination and about 100 trips back and forth till you get the final product. From previous experiences I was a able to do this out of one piece. If you screw up continue with the bad piece this way if you make another mistake is still on your template piece. Speaking of templates I started with a piece of cardboard, poster board would work also. I tried to give you pics of the process in stages. The bottom is a 90° with a 3" leg, the first bend towards the strut tower is 120°, the bend towards the fender is 140°. You need at least a
22"x 28" and that leaves no extra. I started with a 2' x 3' piece. This is an example of plowing through the tough stuff in the beginning to get other people to follow and then when the aftermarket sees a demand they'll mass produce something cleaner. I think this should also be a separate post, somebody let me know if that's allowed.

Bump for results...did you get to run today RB?
Yes, I made the nearly 400 mile round trip Milan. I got 4 passes, tune adjustments, different gears, different launch and a different track, all that considered it was pretty good...11.48 @ 119.65 and a 1.61 60' went through in 3rd now that the 3.15s are back. More testing & tuning ahead. DA was little over 1000'.
