I don't get why people are so hung up on the trap speed/time. There are so many factors that go into that, from weather and tire conditions, to driver variability, that there's no point comparing.
Because when you are drag racing ET and getting to the line first is all that matters. If changes do not translate into quicker ET it doesn't matter. MPH and weight are true indicators of what the car is making for power.

Comparing peak numbers on a dyno graph don't mean much. The dyno is a tool when you can make changes right then and there and get measurements with the same exact air and what not. To see any gains or losses in the changes. Even then it is not a say all end all. A great example is we say an 80hp swing on pulls because we noticed it was noticed the tires were really low on air. We aired them up and it picked up 80hp. This was on a NMRA Drag Radial car btw. The motor wasn't making any more or less power. You can also fudge numbers on most dynos if you know what your doing. So use a dyno as a tool to dial in a combination. But any racer worth his sack will be at the track doing final tuning and tweaks to get the most out of the car.

Dyno queens can print out their dyno graph, frame them and display them next to their car at shows. So they have something to point at and brag about. Because everyone knows it's how you stand next to your car that is all that matters. lmao .

Every Mustang maps I have seen, 11-14 GT, 2012-13 Boss, and N/A Cobra Jet maps all point to the Mustang engines loving valve overlap throughout the entire rpm band. The 2015 Mustang engine does not like valve overlap at peak power but it does at peak torque. The 2015 retards the intake cam severely after peak torque. There are quite a few engine differences between the 11-14 and the 2015 engine, however, there isn't much between the Boss and the CJ from the 2015 engine, except one big key factor, intake manifold. I hope whenever the tunes are done for 2015 intake manifold swaps that valve overlap is explored thoroughly, rather than assuming that because it didn't like it with the stock manifold, that it won't like it with a better one. Tuners will NOT go into in depth in conversations on tuning this, not sure why.
Mainly referring to the part I highlighted in red --- They don't discuss because in many cases tuners have hours and hours into testing and tuning to see what works best. So they don't like to share when this gives them an advantage over the next tuner. But because they do not go into depth about the changes you have to accept they are giving you the best tune they can. Which can be hard to accept on the word of someone you do not know.

I hear my LS buddies talk about how tuners give all kinds of info and so on. I find it hard to believe that on a new platform someone does all kinds of tuning, spends money and so on to get the most out of the car and then just give all the info away for free.

Oh yea definitely, I absolutely agree. When I have a break through in my tuning and I prove everyone wrong, I will just show the cake, not how I made it lol. I have a hard time trusting other tuners because there are way more bad ones than good ones. A "professional tuner" nowadays is someone with a shop, dyno, and a laptop. Knowledge doesn't seem to be a must anyone, but to the everyday guy, the tuner knows best. However, I would be first to announce to everyone if I am wrong rather than leaving everyone in the dark, afraid that it would hurt my name.

Sorry OP, got a little off topic. I'm just questioning the tuning done on your car.

new here, not new to tuning however. I'm interested in starting to tune this vehicle myself as well. You bring up some interesting points for sure. I have found this to be the case in many other platforms as well especially VWs/Audis. No one shares any info on how to tune some of the newer audis when you have companies like APR charging $1500 for a stage 1 flash. Some of the older platforms people were able to break through but I hope that happens much quicker here so we can all benefit. There is still enough money to go around at the end of the day.

Also around these parts there seems to be a different tuner every month when it comes to the local performance shops. You are right, anyone with a laptop and access to a dyno can be a "tuner" now. Especially in the Subaru/GTR community here.

For all the haters
If you listen and watch closely you can see how easy I'm taking off and going into 4th at the 1,000', this leaves me too low in the rpms for the finish line, this is my fault no one else's. I was told to leave the 3.15s but I did the 3.73s anyways. If I can't find some 3.31s I'll put my 3.15s back in for Beech Bend. Crossing the line in 4th at higher rpms will net more mph which will show more HP. Don't forget I'm 3,865 lbs. with me in the car. I barely heat the tires on the burnout, and run 20lbs. of air. There's room for improvement. This is not directed at SONIC just the viewers of the video.

Absolutely. The difference I find between myself an other tuners is that I like to discuss the tuning operation of the car not because I want to know how to make the most power, I want to know why the engine is doing what its doing and why it wants what it wants. It's important to understand function to maximize potential. I had to do this a lot for product development to be the best, not just good enough.

There is a strange hesitation right before the 4th gear shift. Was that you letting out of it for a second?

That's the torque converter locking up, another are to mess around with for tuning.

Doesn't it require the use of 2011-2014 components? Not sure on the ETA for BMR's piece.
Yes, it uses 2014 spindles, they come with the kit. I already have the Watson Racing k-member kit, I'm just waiting for my AEROSPACE COMPONENTS brakes, I ordered them a little late, that's my fault. I won't have them in time for Beech Bend. So the k-member will be a project after Beech Bend.
