Anyone with this setup have any dtc's? I'm getting a P115E. I have the Ford Racing Twin 65 TB. Seem's like I'm only getting it at start-up. If I clear it, the code doesn't come back until I cut it off and crank it again. I have replaced the TPS.

Isn't that an idle compensation error . Your predicted airflow table is not correct .

On the nGAUGE it says
"Throttle Actuator Control Throttle Body Air Flow Trim at Max Limit"

thanks for the info, I just need some extra hose and I'll be good to go then, found the adapter for the intake pcv in the box, good thing I didn't throw it out.

Most likely the TPS and idle airflow may need to be adjusted in the tune. HP tuners just released some new tables for the TPS on the S-550 to let the older TPS like on your throttle body play nice with the new OS on the S-550.

Thanks for the info!! I need to get with Lund then. Kinda strange more people aren't getting this code, but maybe they don't know they're getting it. My check engine light wasn't coming on or the gear icon and it wasn't running rough either. I just happened to check for dtc's on my ngauge and it was there. No idea how long this code has been throwing.

Hello everyone and thank you RB for this thread. I'm coming off of a 2013 N/A platform and just ordered my 17. Like the rest of you (have), I want to install the Cobra Jet. My question is how low did you have to lower your engine? I didn't see a particular throughout the thread. Other than the Crowl Hood, I haven't found another aftermarket hood for the IM to clear. Plus if all possible to keep the strut bar. Thank you in advance!

You'll need mounts to lower the motor ~3/4" if you don't notch your hood or go aftermarket. Won't be able to retain strut bar.

You are welcome, I'm glad to be of help.
The only 2 cents I have is....I don't know about all hoods, but the cowl hoods I've seen, including mine, have an interference issue, and ironically it isn't due to height, the very back of the hood structure, to the very back of the IM, is the clearance issue.
I had to cut a hole at the back of my hood, only visible from the engine compartment.
I think you my see some pics of people notching the back of their hood on other CJ IM threads.
Glad to see an N/A member:headbang:

Just looking into this and wanted to double check some things.
First, guys with stock hoods if you choose to not cut the hood what motor mounts did you use? how much did you lower the motor was it .5 or .75. I read someone used UPR or BMR mounts just looking for some clear cut info on this.

Second can anyone assist with what parts/pieces I may or may not need.
or can I just go with this

Thanks for any help or assistance looking to try and make this as plug and play as possible

1st on the hood: I used the UPR motors mounts and lowered my motor 3/4". The problem with lowering your engine is going to be with headers. I had clearance issues with my headers and the steering shaft. So I ended up raising mine back up to stock height. I did keep the motor mounts. I have heard of people modifying their headers so that they still fit. Not sure how. Also, you will run into pinion angle issues. I know this by experience. I was having a howling noise coming from the steering area and when I raised the motor back to stock height, the noise mysteriously disappeared. In the end I have notched my stock hood and I'm ok with that. It doesn't look horrible and I got to keep my hood without having to buy an aftermarket hood. RBS550 has said that he had to notch his Watson hood as well. Most, if not all aftermarket hoods are built off the stock footprint. Meaning they all use the same areas of structural support including the back, which is where the CJ needs clearance.

2nd on the LMR kit: That won't work on your S550. I take that back....all but the heatsheild box will work. The JLT cai fits, but most anyone using that cai gets the heatsheild box for the S550. You have to call them to get the heatsheild box seperate. Or you can order it as a package if you call them. You can get the Mani and TB separate as well. I bought mine from Don Woods Ford Racing Parts. They offer everything separate or as a package with a Ford Racing CAI. I bought the package with the Mani, Twin 65 TB and FR CAI and I use a JLT heatsheild box. I also used the Boss Mani install kit to make my install really clean. There is a few parts in that kit that you need. Some folks have done their CJ's without this kit, but I think it looks cleaner with it.

3rd you didn't ask but: The Mono blade TB will give you more power on the strip, but there are some driveability issues. Maybe someone else can chime in with this unless it has been resolved with the tune. I run the Twin 65 TB and have never had any driveability issues.

Hope this helps and good luck.

I use the mono with zero drivability issues. Issues with mono were with the original batches, Acufab was taking those back and fixing them for anyone that ended up with one that had issues.

I got mine from another member who upgraded to a big whipple TB and it has been perfect. drive very close to stock, which is more than I could ask for for such a massive TB

That is excellent to hear! I've been looking at the big whipple TB too. Man that thing looks incredible, but I can't pull the trigger on that price since mine is working just fine.

Ok so just so I have it correct.

Order just the basic SCJ intake
Order the FRPP CAI
Call up JLT and get the heat shield
Select a Oval or Twin TB
Get the boss intake install kit for some of those parts

Trim hood, do you happen to have any dimensions on how much you trimmed or anything? just wondering or a really good picture of it?

Thanks for the info and help
