Ok so just so I have it correct.

Order just the basic SCJ intake
Order the FRPP CAI
Call up JLT and get the heat shield
Select a Oval or Twin TB
Get the boss intake install kit for some of those parts

Trim hood, do you happen to have any dimensions on how much you trimmed or anything? just wondering or a really good picture of it?

Thanks for the info and help
Why don't you just lower the engine the 3/4 of an inch?

That's far more reversible than cutting the stock hood which, if you ever go to sell it and swap the stock stuff back on, will be noticed and you'll have to answer questions about.

You can make the cut look like it was on the car to begin with it you want. I free handed this with a 4.5" angle grinder because I'm too impatient to use my dremel for this lol. I haven't seen anyone cut there's like this so I figured I'd share.

CJ will be on soon I'm preparing everything and making sure I have everything I need because this car is my daily driver.

Ok so just so I have it correct.

Order just the basic SCJ intake---YES
Order the FRPP CAI---Yes if you like that one or you can get the JLT CJ CAI(you have to use a smaller filter though). I think some folks have bought a different CAI as well, but I can't remember which ones.
Call up JLT and get the heat shield---YES and specify you have an S550 and you're installing a CJ. They should know what to get you.
Select a Oval or Twin TB---YES, you can use several different ones including the ones that whipple make. Just make sure they will fit on a CJ Mani.
Get the boss intake install kit for some of those parts---YES I do recommend this.

You will also need a tune from a good tuner. I use Lund Racing as many do. I've heard that AED is doing well with the CJ setups as well.

Trim hood, do you happen to have any dimensions on how much you trimmed or anything? just wondering or a really good picture of it?---I'll see if I have any pics of my underhood.

I had mine tuned out while completely removing the line from engine bay and capped off the steel line ( below the brake reservoir) with a breather filter.

Piece of 3/8" hose about 2-3 ft long and two hose clamps. Bolt purge valve to front of block with a M8-1.25" long bolt and a flat washer and run hose to nipple on intake and purge.

Thanks Team Beefcake and Lund nGAUGE for my next step, CJ intake & E85. This is really a straight forward procedure. Start off by, most people disable the fuel pump, start the car to run the fuel lines dry or have a tune to just run the pump and pump into a gas can, either is a good practice, in the Fox Days we'd put a jumper wire in the fuel pump relay under the driver's seat. But I'm a reformed Hillbilly so I just grabbed a shop towel released the pressure on a COLD engine (just because I'm a Hillbilly doesn't mean I'm stupid) at the fuel rail. Removed the old intake blew out the fuel lines, passenger side fuel tank was empty so I only had to siphon down the drivers side to make room the new tenant Mr. E85. I also stepped up to 47# injectors, remember I'm N/A so I won't need as much as the power adder group. My first batch was actually E90. In one of the pics on the stock intake, I manually actuated the Charge Motion Plates so you can see them. For all you Hillbillies/Rednecks or old people that aren't computer savvy, the thing that looks like a tooth pick, that's not for your mouth, that' to latch and unlatch the mini SD card into the nGUAGE, although it did help me get a piece of Slim Jim out, that's been stuck in my mouth since Norwalk lol. There's plenty of write ups on this install if you want more formal and in depth instructions. Lund sent me a start up tune, and it started right up no issues. Now we'll progressively work our way up trough the tune. Remember do to work and other commitments this my take a few days, so don't expect any updates real soon. I'm focused on Bowling Green NMRA, that's our last chance this year to build interest in the S550 to the masses. Remember people without S550s aren't necessarily on this site, but they will be at Bowling Green, so let's get those to S550s to Bowling Green NMRA. The more we race, the more we progress together, remember our cars help promote sales and parts development. :ford: :headbang:
looks nice! did you end up dropping the motor for the cj to fit or did you change your hood?

He has an aftermarket hood but still had to cut the rear cowl portion of it to clear. The problem is the manifold sits so far back that it hits the rear cowl portion of the hood skeleton on even some of the aftermarket cowl hoods.

Just posting this here, not sure if many have seen it. Sean's personal car, full bolt-ons, converter and 3.31 gear change, SCJ intake.

Agreed, although Sean just put this combo together and hasn't done a ton of testing, I believe he was running regular E85 not FTW also and was running a full catback. I'm sure his times will progress.

Just posted to show the potential of the SCJ manifold, it's nice to see more then one car lay down some nice times!
