How is everyone getting a CJ Intake Manifold for the 10 speed? When I look at them online it says "This Cobra Jet Intake Manifold does not have provisions for installation on automatic transmission-equipped 5.0L Mustangs." like on CJ Pony Parts.

I know people do it but I can't find any info on how. What do I need to get a CJ Intake Manifold to work with the auto trans? Is it a throttle body? Adapter? I'm lost lmao. Thanks for reading.

The CJ intake is taller and you will either need to buy motor mounts that will lower the engine or a different hood with more clearance.

So I know about that. I'm talking about how it says online that it's not compatible with the auto cars, the 10 Speed to be exact. That's what I'm confused about.

It's compatible. Just get your wallet ready and don't worry.

Oh.. So you just bought the kit as is without needing anything else extra for it to work with the trans?

They only say that because it doesn’t have a provision for some extra vacuum line that is only present on the A10 cars. Other than that, it is the same install for A10 or manual.

All you need is:

CJ manifold (I would buy one ported)

CJ specific air intake (prefer Steeda closed
box for IATs)

VMP throttle body for easy plug-n-play for 2018+. (I use the Monoblade 137 but they say the Twin 69 is more streetable)

BMR engine lowering brackets that still work with the stock mounts for no added NVH and lowers engine 1/2” and also remove hood blanket

or

Remove hood blanket and cut the Jesus cross brace out of center of hood. It will clear without any engine lowering.

Where then do you tie the A10 specific vacuum line into?

Thanks

I didn't make any extra connection. You end up ditching all the vacuum hose crap that sits bundled up above the stock throttle body on the stock manifold. The CJ only has 3 vacuum ports on it. On my setup, I capped off the port labeled 1 below. That would normally go to your PCV or catch can setup, etc. I went with breathers on both valve covers so I capped this port 1 off and also did not drill a hole in my Steeda inlet pipe that would go to the driver side valve cover. Port 2 goes to the brake booster. I ran a new hose for this (cleaner look) but you can reuse your stock brake booster hard lines if you like. Port 3 goes directly to the orange vacuum connection to the part attached to the driver fuel rail. (sorry, forget what that's called but you will know what it is when you look at your car)

That's it for the vacuum connections. Much cleaner than the stock vacuum hose rat nest. Your tuner will take care of the rest in your tune. The IMRCs are deleted.

It will work you just need to do some simple modifications to the vacuum ports and you'll need a tune.

Wish a CA Carb EO legal Cobra Jet A10 Kit existed, well probably never.

I noticed you’re running the steeda CAI, I have the Roush CAI that’s closed box. Would it work equally as well?
