I almost didn't get the Handling Package because the wheels looked to be very hard to clean. I like to keep my wheels and cars clean. Yesterday I tried a brush that did a great job, very easy to clean them! I bought the brush for wheels 3-4 years ago, never worked really well on the other cars wheels, but did a great job on the HP wheels. I wanted to pass it on in case anyone hasn't found another good solution. Brush picture is attached.

What's hilarious is I saw the thread title, then your avatar of the wheel, then the picture above^, but before I scrolled down fully, all I saw was this bed dried pine needles or hay? all intertwined, and thought you were being funny before I saw the brush LOL

I use a combo of #1 and #4 for when needing to clean such rims, works great and no damages to surfaces:

One more trick that won’t damage wheel surfaces and costs less than any off the shelf specialty wheel cleaners:
Dawn dish soap will dissolve any road grime and brake dust without damaging painted/cleared surfaces. Get the new version of Dawn that comes in the spray bottle - works wonders…

Same - I hate dirty wheels and these look as annoying to clean as the PP1 wheels. Already planning on bringing it straight home from the dealer and putting a set of PP2 wheels on it temporarily so I have time to ceramic coat the HP wheels (which is also intimidating). Hopefully the ceramic makes cleaning them easier but it looks like extended cleaning time just might be the cost of doing business for HP cars.

I love cleaning wheels. Seriously. Nothing smells as good as IronX or Iron Out and that stuff works miracles :like: Proper brush and cleaning will be as fast as with any other wheel. Applying the sealant/ceramics and polishing on the other hand will take some more finger time for sure.

I chose Auto Finesse Caramics Wheel Protection Kit instead of for example Gyeon Q2 Rim ceramics because it can be sprayed and just polished.

You don't polish a satin or matte finish.

How does the ceramic hold up on the wheels when you use ironx?

if I buy a bottle of it, and use it all.

can I simply refill with dawn concentrated from my gallon sized jugs? or is it a different consistency / something different.

wondering if the spray pump is what does the foaming or whatever. because id buy one if so. I always have been afraid of using dawn on cars, I thought it would be harsh

Yes, they sell refills of that specific flavor of Dawn. However, I am not sure in the big jugs. On the label they tell you to swap the sprayer.

It's not so much polishing as buffing off the wax, so it stays only in a small layer. I had various wheels and never had a problem that it would change the look. So far used only Poorboys Sealant so can't say for ceramics, but it should be the same. It's really a must since day one otherwise you will not get off the brake dust completely.

I'm not quite sure, no car = no experience yet. From what I've read, usually the ceramics for wheels is just for one year. Might be enough to just wash them with brush and shampoo, otherwise it'd have to be re-applied if the protection got lost. With Poorboys sealant applied in 2 layers once a year before summer/winter season (two sets), the wheels looked almost like new after 8 years (aside the corosion on winter wheels from salt and such, but no brake dust or tar almost anywhere).

I see that now, the HP wheel design looks like the intertwined pine straw!
