I'd go with the 304 stainless without a doubt.

Hey Bill, Thanx for the update and the PM. I am REALLY looking forward to your review. I am not looking for a system high on the loudness meter and hoping these axlebacks are the answer. The link you sent me was a good deal thou..Fordever LMR is out of stock for the time being so I ordered from CJPP. As you said LMR has it as T304 construction and CJPP has it as T409 with T304 tips.
Guess we'll find out in a week or so how it sounds.

Hey Bill.... I thought you were going with axles and OE resonator?? So you setup is gonna be CJPP axles and an H pipe??? Or am I confused....I checked on my order from CJPP and there was some kind of mix up, looks like paypal messed it up somehow. After contacting CJPP they are supposed to be sent out today. It set me back a couple days but I'll get them on quick because the prep work has been done. I'm getting pretty fast at install and removal of the catback by myself. If there was such a thing as axle back pit crew, I would try out for it.
I'm fitting them first with another set of catbacks I had on hand with the repaired CJPP h-pipe welded in place. The CJPP axle backs look very familiar to some other axle backs from different vendors. If the unbranded CJPP axle backs get the reviews that is posted on LMR and what others have posted from NXT Step Performance, they may sound pretty good. Some compare them to Roush, stating they are a little less loud, deeper, and no drone. What!!! Sounds to good to be true but I'll find out soon.

Resonator weight - 17lbs
H-Pipe weight - 10.5lbs, (without clamps)
OEM axle back weight - 38.41 lbs (both together)
NXT Step axle back weight - 7.8 lbs each

I have an H pipe sitting on my workbench I will be waiting for your thoughts on the various setups. If there is very little to no drone, I will be ordering a pair as soon as yours are installed and reviewed...The new axle backs may end up on my OEM set with the resonator, but for now I'm going to try the h-pipe setup first since it's an extra. I'll still have my oem set to try if I don't like the sound, but waiting to cut it up for now.
CJPP also states in their video that it will sound better with a resonator delete. If there is drone, I'll take it off real quick.
The h-pipe with the SVE axle back sound clips I've found sound a little deeper with less burble.
Here's a sound clip with the LMR stage 2 kit, SVE axle back with x-pipe.

Just remember, every exhaust that is very deep and bassy in the lower RPMs will drone and/or have high in-cabin volume. It's just the nature of things. Low frequencies permeate sound deadening much more than higher frequencies. The new axle backs may end up on my OEM set with the resonator, but for now I'm going to try the h-pipe setup first since it's an extra. They do exist ;). Not even a hint of drone here, and as quiet as stock just cruising. Drop the hammer down, and it roars.Yes, I just need to give it a go. My car is an auto, with 3.55 gear ratio, and sound deadener has been placed in the trunk.
It comes in to play when comparing drone between cars. I've yet to hear an absolute no-drone aftermarket system. I guess it's in the ear of the beholder.![]()
I can take a little bit of drone and loudness for a deeper sound. I realize this motor is not going to emit the same rumble as our Chevelle.
Yeah, that's why its kinda hard to believe posts on these type systems that say ZERO drone.... But I am very confident Bill will give me an honest review..Just remember, every exhaust that is very deep and bassy in the lower RPMs will drone and/or have high in-cabin volume. I have an extremely difficult time believing this axleback won't. Maybe it won't be too bad, but there's nothing in the way it's designed that would eliminate drone. The resonator probably keeps it manageable.Yeah, that's why its kinda hard to believe posts on these type systems that say ZERO drone.... Every muffler ever made drones to a certain extent.I have an extremely difficult time believing this axleback won't. Maybe it won't be too bad, but there's nothing in the way it's designed that would eliminate drone. The resonator probably keeps it manageable.
