As a retired Ford guy, I have to hand it to the LS development team. Yes, there are lots of variants to keep track of, yes they have had their quality issues just like everybody else. But that engine is like the old original small block with modern engineering, materials, and production. It's compact, light, packages well, and is really responsive to mods. Including boost. 535 Hp NA with emissions and a warranty is pretty good. The area under the curve will feel awesome in that car!
The Coyote IS great! But due credit to the GM Powertrain guys. This and that 5.5 flat-plane...
Now that there are options for packaging the Godzilla.... It's just so heavy!!

Can't get a manual even in the base model. Who cares.
Agreed. First GM messed up the manual in the Corvette by offering a 7 speed. That thing is terrible in my opinion. Any moderately sporty vehicle can get by with 5 or 6. 7 just makes it more difficult to select the correct gear.

And now there's no manual available at all.

I'd really like to see a fixed roof in a potential track car as well. At least offer it as an option.

I have to hand it to GM for their continued development of not only the C8 but the LS engine family.
Ford came out with the Godzilla in 2020 and its been relatively unchanged since aside from a destroked 6.8L. Designed as a truck engine, but with a lot of potential otherwise. The Coyote may see engineering changes over time, but will never get larger than 5.2L mass produced. What's next? I'd like to see some out of the box thinking on Ford's part instead of the wash, rinse, repeat of the 5.2 Predator philosophy for all their top of the line models.
Yes, GM's willingness to spend on engine development is awesome. Ford is really cheap with engines. I'm really hoping the Camaro comes back based on some of the latest engines from GM. Ford would have to do something radical to get me to buy another Mustang if they stick with the tired five liter size they've been using since 2011. 5.2 is the same. 0.2 additional liters is not an engine displacement change. It's more like an overbore for a rebuild (marketing gimmick).

I'll keep waiting for Tremec to release their C8 compatible manual transmission as an actual product and either GM comes to their senses and brings it to the lineup or someone makes a kit with it available.

Transmission issues, tire size and usability of the car, different grip levels on tires. Climate controls/center stack issues.
My trans 2024 is fine, 12,000. Shifting is ten times better up and down than the A10. What's wrong with the tire size? Grip level?? Much more capable in the twisty mountains. I have seen .85 on the g meter without howling the tires. Center stack is just bad, hard to read and access. Gone in 2026.

One of the best cars GM ever made-C5. Reliable, easy to work on and the LS1 makes great power especially when you add a blower/cam/heads with a RPM Level 5 trans and Kooks headers w/Corsa exhaust. My 02 has 60K miles and a bunch of 1/4 mile work and it keeps going strong. Taking it to SickSummer in 2 months.

Love my Bullitt too! Keeping it NA, but the C5 is a keeper-

Is the RPM trans a manual? What kind of 1/4 times? RW HP? Cool car!

The C5 may be a performance bargain, but it is one of the worst looking vett's made in my opinion! They look cheap and the interior is garbage like all early 2000 GM's.

Stock A4 auto 4L60E replaced with a RPM Level 5 to handle the power. low 10's consistently and she dynoed at 650 to the wheels.

Looks are always a personal preference thing, your girlfriend is pretty to you, I think she's fat and ugly- ;)

I like the C5 design, even though it seems like an RX7 ripoff. I can't stand the C6. The C7 and C8 are okay not great to me. Part of design to me is size and weight. The C5 was the last truly sporty Corvette. They have gained hundreds of pounds every subsequent generation.

To me the C5 just needs 2 inches more headroom and it would be the perfect track car. I never felt safe in heavy traffic in that car though. What a crackerjack box of a vehicle. The pluses and minuses of light weight ~3,100lbs. It drives nearly perfectly, but you are probably not living through any kind of serious accident.

The C6 wasn't heavier than the C5

You are right. If anything it's 25-50 lbs. I always forget about the C6 stats because I despise the appearance of that car so much. Stat wise, it's a better car due to the better engines, but those headlights make it look so cheap to me.

The C6 Z cars are awesome as well!
That they are! I prefer the updated body style of the C7 (along with the performance) but the C6 Z’s are really good as well
