Changed trunk panel from gt to tri-bar pony

[MENTION=19218]jpilone[/MENTION] how was the process of removing it and putting it back on? Could you post something about the process? thanks!

Two black caps on the backside of the lid hide 4 7mm bolt heads. Tape the painted area of the trunk lid just above the black panel and use a plastic pry tool and pry downward from the outside to the center. I was afraid I'd break it, but it popped free. Had to transfer the camera. Took just a few minutes. Easy peasy! Think late model resto and cj pony parts have videos of this too

The panel was $69.99 from newtakeoff with free shipping. Can't beat that, and I got to keep my original emblem panel that's now boxed up safely and hiding in my attic

I personally like this. I'm surprised no ones crying about it being for the v6. Guarantee if you put a cobra emblem there, ppl would lose their minds.

It's bad enough that my license plate was on my Mach 1, and makes no sense on the S550..

Found these AFTER I ordered a blank panel for mine, which was considerably more than those prices. I agree that the "GT" is out of place on that panel. I've also got a limo tint stripe on the windshield which hides the Ford emblem. Can't remove the 5.oh emblems... it'll leave 2 holes in each fender. Thinking about airbrushing them in body color.

I got this from newtakeoff. It was cheap and I like this logo better. I know for a V6, but the logo is the best looking IMHO

Looks great, I like it. I never cared for the GT letters either. I think I'm going to follow your lead when mine comes in. Where did you order the tribar pony from?
