Today Dodge announced that the Hellcat will have a starting MSRP of $59,995. Not pennies, to be sure, but that’s a heck of a lot of 10.80 ETs on slicks for the money. The list price includes the gas guzzler tax ($2,100 gas-guzzler tax; $1,700 if you get the eight-speed automatic), but doesn’t include destination fees, or what we expect will be a hefty dealer mark-up.

Thanks for sharing.

The model I'd be interested in is the RT Scat Pack with 6.4 Hemi and 8 speed automatic. Looks like it would be $38,895 plus $995 destination for a no option one for a total before any options of $39,890.

And I'm shocked the manual has a HIGHER GG tax than the automatic. I was dead on the A8 GG tax number with my guess but off on the manual. And yes they left out the $1K destination to make the price look better but did not off that screen presentation earlier.

I'd order a Hellcat if I could afford it, I can't. Hoping Ford gives us the HP/TQ numbers soon and gives us some good news. :)

Yeah, and they conveniently overlooked the fact that you can't run those 10.8s with the base $60K car. I don't know what other options there are, but at the very least you'll have to add the automatic tranny. So between that and the gas guzzler tax it's going to be several thousand more, I expect. And with the aforementioned dealer mark-ups, which all but the lucky will have to pay, I'm sure this thing will easily be somewhere in the $70K+ range.

Cool car, but man that's a lot of scratch for a one trick pony.

Well, if nothing else, the press release says that the GG tax is included in the price...

There you go. It by no means is lightweight. I also highly doubt the Hellcat will hit the 200mph mark like the GT500. I think they are setting this thing up to just do straights and quarter mile. Oh well another overpriced SRT that will sit next to the Vipers and Grand Cherokees.

If they don't care about Quality Control issues with SRT Challengers the Hellcat will be no different.
Bam called it lol

I will say I was wrong on the Hellcat pricing with my original guess. Well played Dodge.

Now its comments about Dodge selling boatloads of Hellcats a year. I will guess no more than 5K a year and probably in the 2 to 3 thousand range.

How many GT500's were sold a year?
How many ZL1's were/are sold a year?

Those two pieces of information should give Dodge fans an idea of how many Hellcats will be sold a year.

I'm just amazed that there are "main stream" cars with 5, 6, 700 hp from the factory. My first car was a Ford escort with probably 90 hp!

I am as well. These are good times we live in if you are into horsepower. :)

What an incredible deal at $60,000... For that money and 707hp, the weight doesn't bother me as much. It is what it is and its a hell of a deal.

Current SRT 392 owners that track already have a zero tolerance with warranty so good luck when that steal of a deal breaks on the track...hell a plastic panel known for cracking since 2008 took a one week approval process....there are reasons other than performance I'm never going back to Dodge. Oh and the panel still cracks on 2014s...Its 60k for a reason.

Even if the 8spd tacks on another 2 grand... Hellcat is a seriously good deal at MSRP.

I also don't think it's a 1 trick pony, but it simply does 1 trick best, just like the others. It doesn't do the other tricks wonderfully unless size is considered and against most RWD V8 cars, it's really quite good at being normal or better. In a straight line, Hellcat is hellacious compared to most.

In case anybody brings up motor trend and car & driver test remember that particular Shelby gt500 only dynoed at 580. Having said all that I think the hell cat is gonna be a nice car albeit expensive and with the 8 speed auto run a good 1/4 time. Big problem is that dodge is very late to the party and being compared to outgoing vehicles is not a good position to be in. If it does reign at anything, it won't be for long.

I really like what dodge did with the hellcat and the new interior is sharp.
