All,

For those of ou that have used Ceratec in your oil, how much did you use and how badly did it discolor the oil when you changed it?

Thank you!

Sounds like it's too late for him. I wonder if it has permanently discolored everything the oil touched, and if his motor blows, they'll instantly deny his warranty for adding non-Ford approved additives. Probably the easiest red flag Ford will ever get aside from checking for ignition cycles for tuned cars.

Oh no- I have not even purchased it yet. Just doing some research but I am not going to try it now. Thanks to all!

I'm debating as well and I see both sides. My question is simple. Are there any accounts where someone has used Ceratec, had engine trouble, and had Ford deny a warranty claim due to using it? If so, I'll stay away and live with the noise. If not, then this is 100% conjecture. What is fact, via video is that it has gotten rid of many a tick issue. You have a lot of posts here, so I'll respect your time on the board. I assume that with so much time here, that if there is a rash of denied claims due to non-approved oil additives you'd have heard about it. Not trying to be jerky, just looking for a basis of fact.

I had the random tick and I put ceratec in and the tick did not go away completely but it did quite it down considerably. the oil was slightly dis colored when I changed it. I did not bother putting it back in nor will I in the future

Since the latest oil change, is the oil color still showing that discoloration? Also since oil change did the tick get louder again or is it staying more toward the quieter side? Just curious.

Oil is normal colored and still ticks here and there at random. As far as noise it is faint and I cant hear it unless I am listening for it
Also I am running the OEM motorcraft

It also “could” lead to stopping the tick that you folks were too cheap to engineer out. Still on the fence.

I tried it once and freaked out when I changed oil cause it came out milky like I had a head leak. Then I remembered I had put that stuff in there. It did seem to quiet it down some though. As far as the GT350 reference it says 5w50 oil, thats not what it says for a reg GT..5w20, not sure about the additive statement but prob has the same statement for a GT.

I took the plunge. One can of Ceratec. No more tick. Slightly lower oil pressure. Nothing has exploded. Will do again next oil change.

fyi I USE MOTORKOTE SINCE FIRST OIL CHANGE.
MOTORKOTE seems to be superior than CERATEC. also it is Clear.
Project farm is an independent tester. really well done tests NOT PAID by companies. I'll share the test on ceratec too.
he stated that motorkote does a betterjob than ceratec.
on top of that.I JUST RACE MY MUSTANG 2018 on roadcourse so all my miles are above 6k rpm .
yearly compression test came back 245psi all around .same of last year. sparks were great too. now with e85 ( last year gas).
so i will keep adding motorkote.
