Ha ha, I used to be like that! I just do it now, otherwise I just spend weeks wanting/procrastinating only to end up doing it anyway. You only live once, just get on with it................
This made me chuckle. A man with the same logic as me. "I'm gunna buy it one day anyway, may as well buy it now" 😂

I must say, the oem wheels look incredible when they are all properly cleaned up. I've always really liked them. Not sure whether that's because I genuinely like them, or I know I can't afford a whole new set for a long time haha

Mine are what you could consider "battered", plenty of wash induced marring, contaminated, paint chipped - I'm now at 31k miles. I thought many times about investing in a wheel stand to do something similar to the above and see to the paint chips, but impatient as I am, I've booked in to have the wheels properly resprayed. Start from fresh. I intend to coat them too, not sure with what yet.

Maintenance will then be easier, and in the future I'm sure I'll end up with a wheel stand!

Oh, and I've also decided to have my calipers painted red!

D: Don't you just love that little lamb's wool mitt for wheels? Whodda thought something that simple could be so useful?
This is just one of those simple little things that just "works". I had a bit of a aahhaa moment when I first used it.

I had exactly the same reaction, D and I poo-poo'd the thing when I saw it in one of his clips. Too funny...but "works" says it all.

I recently bought some of these Maxshine versions to try -

To get those FlexiPad lambs wool mitts delivered to Australia was VERY VERY expensive. These are not retailed by local suppliers and OG was the only viable solution. By the time I had factored in the shipping, lets say they were not even remotely close to the $12 you pay in the USA, hence me trying to find an alternative. Yet to try the Maxshine's, although I have a feeling the FlexiPad is still going to be the better product.

I have to quit looking at these threads.....I'm telling myself no, I don't need a tire roller/holder
Boy, do I EVER know what you mean, James! <grinning>

Problem is, I have no will power so guess what I did? <laughing>

Yep, D, I went with the one you chose, thanks again.

Sorry about the expense to get things to AU, but hopefully, it keeps your spending down. <smiling> The MaxShine mitts look OK but I agree, I don't think the "wool" is equal quality but standing by for a report.

Ummmm, no it doesn't keep the spending down at all! :giggle:

Good job regarding the wheel stand, they are another one of those simple solutions/inventions.

Now excuse me, I'm off to look into Quick Jacks....................
Be sure to check Costco.. their price was the best I could find. $1,199.00 for a QJ BL-5000SLX bundle, it came with an extra set of rubber blocks with pinch weld notches cut into them and a set of wall hangers. A bargain at that price. If you want to make it even easier, throw in a set of BMR Low Profile Jacking Rails!

Edit... Just checked Costco. The BL-5000SLX is on sale for $1,049.00. It’s Not The Bundle (that is now $1,399.00).

Damnit, no-no-no. I go to Costco every weekend but will not look online after having a few beers :)

And in another graphic illustration of the the "Australia Tax" the $1049 - $1199 price range you guys pay turns into $1899 - $2840 in Australia.

On the brighter side....you do have an ocean :)

Holy SH-T, D, I knew it was more expensive but geeze, not THAT much more! You have my sympathies. Heck, we still don't have a CostCo in this podunk town.

Quite so, James, but even though we only live a short distance from the Gulf, I can count on both hands the number of times I've been "to the beach" in the twenty-five years we've lived here. Beaches are for younger yuman beans. :-)
