I think I will wait to see one in a showroom before I get whipped up about it. I have see speculation like this before on new models and its turned out bullshit.
I can see it going either way. It is looking to be a classy unit this Mustang, so it would seem odd they would stop at 98% and just balls it right up.

On the other hand, they did say they weren't making a global mustang but rather "bringing the Mustang to the world" which, when I first heard that phrase, had images of them doing as little as possible in terms of changing it to meet the international market requirements.

Well I hope they do the job right. Too busy to worry about it now though. Halfway thru fitting a full titanium Akrapovic exhaust system to my Ducati.:)

 Sweet. I've always been slightly more partial to MVs. MVs, Dukes and HD Fatboys lol. I was going to either get an MV or the Fatboy when I was 24, MV had more reports of unreliability, and the Fatboy is a childhood favourite, so it won out. That plus I probably would have stacked the MV.

Can anyone say why the tail lights are clear?
In fact - most if not all other cars in Aust have red tail lights - in fact I thought you had to have red tail lights and white lights (except for reversing lights) were not legal.

Good question. The clear tail lights have been associated with the European market (why?) and therefore with all overseas applications. This may be incorrect and Australian Mustangs could have red and amber lights.

Who knows.

Pretty sure the ADR says red taillights. As you say whatever it is meant to be will be. I am sure they will do the job correctly. I think the white looks bad.

Looking forward to upgrading my Camry to something more exciting.:D

I've been looking more closely at the interior photos and I can now see the shifter is not off-set to the left, it is in the middle.

It's the position of the handbrake that gives that impression.

This means two things;

Firstly, good! RHD drivers won't need to reach further for gear changes.

On the other hand it should have been even easier for Ford to do the job correctly in the first place. Just mirror image the console and allow another 10cm of handbrake cable.

Am I over reacting to this or are other RHD'ers also disappointed?
How do you know it's not in 6th gear? ....J/K

Regarding the cupholders, does anyone really think they'd leave the handbrake that far away from the driver if they kept it like this. Honestly, I'd pull a rotator cuff if it was that far.

Most likely, the only exception I can think of would be that the protoypes I saw were hacked together. That wouldn't actually surprise me though, as the IP and cupholders are seperate units, so it's possible the engineers just grabbed an older prototype and threw in the new IP and lights.

Sorry, what's the IP?

surely it wouldn't cost ford that much to switch the handbrake and the cup holders around. If other manufactures can do it to there cars why can't Ford.

My thoughts exactly. You're the biggest auto-maker in the world and you're taking an iconic car to the world for the first time, on its 50th anniversary, you leave the interior awkward because of lack of dollars....

It doesn't really add up, especially considering all the fuss the made over the reveal. If that don't do it right, that is really sad.

I found this picture on a SA Ford media release which clearly shows the hand brake in the right place.

if this is what Ford delivers then I think it looks sweet.
