This is my first post here, I had my 2017 mustang gt pp1 for almost a year and I ready to start messing with it.

I picked awe touring catback as my choice, but was wondering if starting with long tube headers first would be a better start.

If you want the AWE Touring catback, and plan on doing headers, It's going to be extremely loud.

Modern factory cat backs are pretty efficient so putting on an aftermarket cat back gains you almost nothing except for changing the sound. LT headers will gain you about 15-20 hp plus change the sound. I would do headers first.

Headers on an S550 is a real PIA, and they aren't cheap. If you don't believe me, get some pricing on doing a set at your local shop. There are far better ways to spend that money/effort. The juice is definitely NOT worth the squeeze below 700whp.

I feel like I should just save this response to a word document somewhere for use the next 25 times this subject comes up...😁

headers have ZERO value except IFF forced-induction. Otherwise you just pollute the soundscape. Fix the chassis and suspension. Noise doesn't make you go any faster.

Put a Steeda H-pipe in first and that will probably suffice on the noise front.

I have AWE Tuning Touring Catback and LTH headers. Great combination, quality and fitment.

I installed the catback first. Around 2hrs in your garage and thats it. I took the Mustang to a shop for the headers. I could do it but they are a pita.

Love the sound of the Mustang with that combination.

Lol. Well we can say that its subjective right. There's people running 2M headers with MBRP catback and they love it.

Thanks for all the comments i not really going for the sound, more of a base for a centrifugal supercharger like ess g3, I just wanted to know what would be a better install first I build more money to get other parts.

Do you have any drone with the LTH and AWE Touring? How have been liking it? I keep going between AWE and the Corsa Active Extreme

On a NA app, 5-6hp at best. Most of the gains come from the cat delete which usually accompanies header instals or using those laughable green 'cats'.
