Will do. Anything we do will be almost double the cost than the US. To do the GT500 cats we are looking at close to 5k cdn with tax and exchange and you still have to pay a shop to do some welding and pipe bending. The Mak Perf is roughly 3k plus you need to have the flange welded onto the header. They didn't make it easy for us
I know a lot of better ways to spend 5 grand 🤣 . I'm ok with the option of having driver side flange done and be able to swap cats in and out in my home garage. When car goes to track, I don't care about noise or smell, and I think I can live with that for weekend drives too. Active exhaust should do well for that.

I don't want to put aftermarket cats because of a number of reports of them getting completely melted or collapsed, clogging the exhaust and taking the engine with them. At least stock cats seem to be more likely to just desintegrate.

Two tunes, one with the rear sensors disabled? Or just put up with the MIL illuminated.

I guess just one eventually. Why would I need a second tune? Worst case, switch back to roush sc tune I have now. Dunno, I didn't think about it that far 🤣

Have you researched S197 GT500 option at all?

I have just roush canned tune, nothing else. I am mostly happy with it as I have MT82. If I can just shut down CEL with either defoulers or self-tuning, that would be my ideal option. Not looking to add any more power.

I had a 13 GT500 and there were many reports of melted cats and melted engines. I did do long tubes and GENSi cats. I never had a problem with the GENSis. Don't really want to go the long use route. It was alot of aggravation. O2 extensions that didn't work. And alot of work to install them.

Same here, LTH is a no-go for me. I'm tired of modding it and dumping more and more money. It's a neverending route.

I just want to drive the darn thing and not worry about anything 😄

I don't mind the roush tune. The trans programming kind of sucks but I've come to learn that roush doesn't touch that. It's all ford. I wouldn't mind the trans strategy cleaned up, and the fan thresholds changed. Maybe the skip shift canned. I'm looking at Wengerd to maybe clean the up. I have to get an RTD. I thought the Roush tune was locked but it seems it's not.

The narrow band (rear) o2 sensors are more accurate than widebands, over a smaller range. Ford logic uses the rear o2 signal to calibrate the fronts and then you have the best of both. It’s called FAOSC. The problem is that in the process of converting exhaust polutants in the cat, the rear o2 signal has offset error as well, so the calibration and logic account for it. When you gut the cat and a p0420/430 is set, it stops doing FAOSC because it knows it is inaccurate. Installing spacers or defoulers will stabilize the signal so it won’t set a code, but the logic will proceed to apply the now-inaccurate FAOSC correction. We’ve tested this and found a 10% error as a result, with the engine running richer than the widebands were reporting.

On the flip side, if you disable the FAOSC and run spacers, then you’ll never achieve an emissions ready status and your front o2’s don’t get the benefit of the FAOSC calibration. Locally, you can’t get an inspection sticker if they plug in and the cat test gives a not ready status.
So defoulers not such a good idea here? I haven't gotten around to addressing the Cats yet, but defoulers where likely party of plan.

They worked Well on my EcO when I went with a 200cell down pipe. But, maybe it didn't work as wee as I thought🤔

GESI is “local” for us.

G-SPORT EMISSIONS SYSTEMS IS A DIVISIONS OF:
GLOBAL EMISSIONS SYSTEMS INC.
1680 MCEWEN DR., WHITBY, ON, L1N 0A2, CANADA
TF: 1.866.539.5080 P: 905.433.9640 F:905.433.8773

Being in Ontario as well, I agree the emissions testing was a farce.

Not sure where you are in Canada, but the police are out there and do A LOT of “sniffing” and checking in Ontario. It’s nothing for them to hand out big fines. They’re cracking down on anything car related.

FWIW, I had GENSi cats on my 13 Shelby for 4 years without spacers or defoulers, rear sensors enabled and it never threw a code.

If it were this guy, he'd ask what's the likelihood/frequency that you'll be stopped and fined? Are we talking once every 5 years or once every 3 months?
I know a guy like that too. He's owned a number of late model muscle cars in a state/county that requires annual inspection and while they dont check emissions all emissions equipment has to be on the vehicle to pass with no CEL on. This guy has gutted more CAT's than a freshman biology class, he's even fabricated long drill bits to make the job easier. So far no ispection personnel or state bureaucrats have asked to look inside the CAT's.
